This is my first bike since passing my direct access, wow!!!, handles great, sticks to the road and matches the abilities of my mates newer bikes, and to cap it all i feel that the looks with the hoover pipes are classic superbike looks, the benchmark for todays modern superbikes!

Kawasaki ZX9R Streetfighter
Just fightered my ZX9 recently. Wow! What a difference, more compfort, easier to chuck into the corners and just loads of fun.
I fighterd my Ninja by choice and not because it was binned.
After riding naked bikes for the last 7 years and not owned a sports bike for 20yrs, I wanted to try somthing new...
so anyone thinking of doing it to their R1, Blade etc...what ya waitng for?

Kawasaki ZXR 400

Bought my ZX4R last spring, its a 93 jap import that's had a fairly easy life.
Engine spins like new and the fit and finish is fairly good for an old bike. This will leave any 600 or 1000 on a twisty road unless you're racing a nutter!

Front end is high spec and originates from the ZX7R with thick USD forks and massive Tokico brakes. Will work well with soft intermediates as the bike is light and doesn't put the same power through the back wheel as 600's.
Buy this if it's all about the bends for you and you'll soon shut up the guys talking about big speeds on motorways and A roads.
Riding position is cramped but fits me as I'm small. reliability is ace as it hasn't missed a beat. Occasionally jumps out of 5th on full throttle though.
Best thing is it's £100 to insure and £30 to tax. Cheap smiles!

The ZX7R is a great bike,a little on the heavy side to todays sportsbike, but with its upside downers and well planted front end, it can be a cracking road or track bike,i ran one of these for three years, and had hours of fun on it,you can pick a good one up for a reasonable price, insurace wont break the bank,it is a reliable tool, can be ideal to start into the big sportsbike market, get used to rideing one of these and the modern bikes fell like light weight's after, they used to run at the front in WSB even after the 1000cc bikes came on the grid,as long as you service regularly it will give you hours of enjoyment, the only downside is they are really track focused and can be hard on the wrists, having said this i went to France on mine,as long as you keep the speed up it takes the presure off!!

I have had many bikes, The Rd350 ypvs, the yzf R6 2001 which was an amazing bike for a 600cc, the TL1000sx completely utterly mental and even tried supermoto ktm sublime handling that a superbike cannot match but lack grunt on the straights and road legal quad pointless cant get through traffic. The thing is I always ended up looking at the Kawasaki Zxr750 when looking through my local motorcycle shop, dazzled by its beauty and build quality but never bought one because I was more interested in power to weight and stupid things like that because of what bikes my friends had etc, Its a design that may never age, has the performance of an R6 but is more drivable because of the extra cc's, the Zxr has the edge over the R6 when it comes to top end at an incredible 176mph, may weigh more but once rolling it handles like no other bike I have owned. It goes, stops and turns like a dream, because of the weight it feels planted and does not get thrown around in the wind. I bought my Zxr750 P4, 6 months ago because ive always wanted one and now im not riding around with loads of other guys getting the old red mist I took the plunge and now wish I had much much earlier. A great bike, get one but make sure its well maintained with service records. Have fun. Phil
