Had my RSV for 12 weeks now , did read reviews before I bought so here goes
Had gsxr 750 k4 before this and rry blade before the k4 and host of other bikes prior to them the APRILI RSV MILLE is a superb bike to own and live with I am 40+ yrs old but that dont mean I cannot give most bikers a run for there money as no subtitute for experiance and on the mille you can give it full fun.
you might get taken on the long strights however you will soon pass the il4 once you are on the twistys and this is were the skilled riders shine low in knee down wind bike our superb touque taking you off into the next bend, other than valve on tyre leeking air at speed not had to spend any dosh yet in 2k miles, sports not siencer and power comander came with bike , paint work shines like a new bike and will keep this for a few years to come, only down side is it likes petrol when ridden hard but you dont buy these bikes to potter around on.
Very comfy bike with sharp handling superb corner taking ability with great front brakes plus engine breaking, Due to being a big V twin you MUST keep it on a optimate between ride outs, pleanty of after market parts to bling if its your thing and superb web forum (rsvzone) get one that as good history and you will not look back.

Aprilia RSV1000

I have been riding bikes for 25 years and have owned ridden and to my shame sometimes crashed a multitude of various types of motorcycle. Yet have not found any bike that gives back as much feel power and sheer grin factor as my 02 RSVR.
I rode it on the Cannonball run in '06 all round Europe with no discomfort, and had very little difficulty keeping up with and passsing {mainly on corners} other newer Jap bikes.
Why spend loads on the latest jap bike when the RSVR is still as good plus has Ohlins, Oz wheels, carbon fibre splashed around and attacts more attention at your local bike hangout than the latest pocket rocket.
Get an RSVR and have fun thrapping around the countryside.

Aprilia RSV1000

Top class bike, man size bike for real world enjoyment for use 2m plus, and even roomy two up.
Takes a little time to reboot the brain to slow corners after the fours , but thats soon overcome to use to the max the torque of the big twin powerhouse, great sound effect come as standard.
The parts are well made and of high quality so all seems rosey for the future, go on getttt ittttt!!!!

Aprilia RSV R built very well with the Rotax V twin engine which is very reliable. It has a novel way checking the oil by using a vetical plastic tube on the side of the engine casing. the bike uses a "dry sump" configuration, basically there is a tank and a pump which constantly circulates oil. The RSV is a tall bike and I am only 5' 7" so it was difficlt for me to have a secure foot hold though once the bike was moving this was not a problem. Aprilia made sure the RSV had plenty of power and grunt in abundance. Coupled to that it has the benefit of Ohlins suspension which can be tailored to suit the individual, having said that the Ohlins forks are prone to seal leakage and as such you must have the special tools to fix them.
I personally found the Aprilia to be too tall for me, something which has been addressed on the Mk. 2 version
I had no problem with spares for the bike simply because it didn't need any....however I have heard that you can be caught out....one story of a guy waiting 7 weeks for an ignition coil !!
