Honda CBF500

If Carlsberg were to make motorbikes that were perfect for new riders, commuters and couriers - the CBF500 would be their creation.
Far sassier than a Deauville (what isn't?!), but not as sexy as a VFR. There is lots of chrome though which looks the part on this naked roadster, especially against the metallic black paint scheme.

The bullet-proof Honda 500cc unit is plenty for today's grid-locked roads. The exhaust note grunts rather than screams and the ride is assured and positive.
No real balls to speak of, but a nice set of ABS on the top of the range model!

Bought this bike new a year ago, having done 12,000 miles on its pretty convinced that it is a bike for everything. Being eqipped with ABS brakes now as standard in europe its a true godend allowing the riding to break with confidence in any conditions.
For a 500 it is a quick machine and with proper tyres in can handle to near sports bike potential around corners etc.
It can commute, tour and do just about anything.
Only bad points really is that it could be finished a little better, forks can be pitted requiring respraying and yes as like the old Honda CB500 the downpipes are very prone to corrosion. If possible replace with stainless steel!

I bought a 3 year old one 15 months ago. It's the only Honda I've had in 35 years of biking that isn't great. Still a good engine and handles OK but it's no where near as flexible or comfortable as the CBR I had and the tank is just a joke. It's supposed to hold 16 litres but you'll be lucky if you can use much more than 10. The seat is like a plank making it a short trips only bike.

I've had my Hornet for a year now and have lost count on how many times I have had offers for people to give me a lift to the blinking fuel station. Please can somebody help with the range of miles to fuel so I can spend more time on my bike than in kind hearted folks cars, lifting me to the fuel station. Other than that I love my bike especially with its new BT 014s I put on this weekend.

Well A 600cc Hornet chassis and a 250cc CBR lump, Goes like poo off a shovel 0-60 about 3 seconds, I havent been beaten off the lights yet and its been 5 months so far, 45 bhp top end approx 115 but the wind at 90 is a real pain, a flyscreen helps but not a lot, Accessories are neverending because everything for the 600 fits on no problemo. They're jap imports so finding 1 may be a prob but if you can find 1 grab it, ohh and the handling is pukka, its got the same size tyres that the 900 Blades got... Overall top bike if you haven't got one or interested more check www.hondahornet.com for more info..
