Aprilia RS
50cc

Overall Rating:
Review
I own an Aprilia RS50. It ran well for several months before the crank case seals blew. So i did a lot of work on it. I had it fixed, new piston, cylinder head, chain, bigger sprockets, a much bigger carb and an arrow exhaust. Ever since i have derestricted it, it truly has been an amazing bike. On a flat it can go up to 65mph at 10000rpm sixth gear though it has trouble holding it as the big sprockets pose a problem for it on any hill though it can hold at 50mph on a steep hill. I had a honda CBR125 behind me to see what speed it could do on a flat and down a hill, 65 on a flat, 75 down a hill. It is very comfortable and i have had no trouble with the seat, it handles like a dream and is very easy to put my knee down on it, fuel consumption isnt very good it can do about 150 miles to a tank, running costs are satisfactory, reliability is good, performance is outstanding for a 50cc, i wanted an rs50 since i was 10 as they looked incredible. and what is with these guys complaining and saying they cant go above 50mph, ive tested its speed and know its exact capabilities so please do not call me a liar.

I've had my Atlantic for a few months now and overall it's a very good scooter. It has plenty of poke when I want to accelerate, a top speed of around 70mph (although I don't think I'd try it out on the motorway). The pros are plenty; it can seat 2 adults easily, has masses of underseat storage with an integral light and plug socket and that 'big bike' feel that you don't get with the smaller scoots. On the minus side there are a few things which niggle me; the wing mirrors could be better, they tend to move when I ride over speed bumps and the petrol tank only holds one and a half gallons (although it does do around 70mpg), also - it's very heavy to push around but then again it is a proper 2 person scooter and most of the time you're riding it!
Overall, the Aprila Atlantic 125 is a very good bike to ride. They're not as 'common' as the Piaggio X9 and I think it has very good styling. It's solid and gets me from A to B in luxurious comfort.

I have got a 2005 bike that i got in november, its a fantastic bike and I've had no probs whatsoever. Its perfect, looks great always starts 1st time everytime. I've just run it and I've pushed it a bit now in 0/60 I've done 1600km now and only been upto 85mph I'm so happy I got it and cant wait for the summer yaaay. I duno why peeps say they are sh*t lol because they're not Some peeps have said they use optimax unleaded... well you shouldn't! you should only use standard unleaded because it does not heat up as much and is not so fin lol, Anyways I'd say to anyone thats thinkin of getting one, just go for it they're a lovely bike.. Anyways all the best to everyone and good riding to all.

Wow....absolutely lovely bike now fitted with Ohlins rear and Mille swinger on top of the Fighter kit from Aprilia. Changed the tyres to Pirelli Diablo's, mille rear sprocket, red wheels, wavey discs, tail unit...turns heads always...comments such as 'looks like the Tuono should have' and 'is that really a Falco.... fantastic

I've had this bike for two years/20,000 miles and the only time it's ever not started was when it's JAPANESE battery packed up on me! I've been to the Pyrenees twice, the Alps once, done a grand tour of France (three thousand miles) and a couple of track days where it kicked the bejesus out of every "supersport" 600 it came across not to mention a couple of blades, R1s and a 916 (Wot no torque?) It's a truly great bike, fast (enough) comfortable (enough) and has great handling, especially after you change that poxy rear shock for somthing decent, I went with Ohlins plus front springs, but a mate reckons a Penske is even better. V twin STOMP for the masses!

Good all-round bike that's fun to ride. Handling is surprisingly good. Not really suitable for high speed motorway trips (too much buffeting but a GIVI screen helps), best for flicking through the twisties on country lanes. No unreliability problems (yet).

I have had my RS since December last year. Through winter it sucks, but when the good weather comes, u r in for a treat! In the cam, my RS is untouchable by other 125s... A great bike to learn to ride properly in the corners. The maintenance is pretty high but the reward is immense. Spend a couple of quid on an exhuast and racing barrel and top end and it'll be good for 115mph. Red Bull paint job finishes it off nicely..

Nice little bike but UNBELIEVABLY unreliable. had it 12 months and in that time the odometer/speedometer has only worked for 2 months, the clutch has gone, the battery rusted due to a hole for wires above it which lets the rain in, the number plate fell off, ive been through 6 fuses, its had electonics problems, the exhaust fell off, the light works intermittently and its needed to be towed back to the dealer no fewer than 4 times after conking out fo rno apparent reason!! I will NEVER buy Italian again. dear oh dear, not impressed!
