I recently downgraded to this 125cc, purely to make life easier.I take many short journeys and a VFR was too much!

I have found the DNA to be a fantastic run-around but also very easy to handle. The bike lacks nothing in pace even though its a 125, I have had the standard model at 80mph fairly easily.

After adjusting to the ride position the bike is suprisingly comfortable and the huge storage compartment in the 'tank' is a great feature. The ample 10 litre fuel capacity is good for 110-120 miles.

As with every bike, there are some downsides; the styling and colouring of all the models are more than questionable however as everything is plastic a scrape and a spray soon sorted that out.

The main problem with the bike is the cooling system, I have managed to slightly rectify the problem by removing the radiator's plastic covering and stripping some of the other plastics. Even after this has been done the engine stills heats up much to quickly and although not for prolonged periods, this can be frustrating.
I go through at least a 2 bottles of mixed coolant a month due to the rad spitting it out in disgust when it gets too hot! This is not an expensive habit however it is somewhat time consuming.

I fully recommend the aftermarket Scorpion exhaust system as the stock one is useless, it blows a hole in itself after 2000 miles and this is far to common, also it looks and sounds rubbish!

This bike does not like the wet weather!! And, God forbid you to use the headlight during the daytime as you'll flatten the battery! I am in the routine of driving round the block with no lights on before I park for the night through fear of it not starting come work time! I must say this is a problem and I can't recall how many times I've had to jump start the bike.

The final bad bit is the electronic display, after ~2000 miles everything apart from the speedo, odo, heat and petrol gauges stop working, e.g. clock, trip computer etc.
his is anoying yet purely cosmetic and has no effect on the bike.

In summary, this is a good all rounder for multi purpose use, and is suited to all. It handles and drives very well and is Ideal for a seasoned biker or a new learner. Finally, be sure to purchase jump leads and coolant!

I first bought a Gilera DNA 180 about a year ago which broke down after a week. I had to leave it in a very dodgy area overnight and despite having a wheel-lock, it was stolen then recovered two days later (beyond economic repair). The replacement arrived 2 months later and though it had a blown fuse after a week, it's been a pleasure since, not a single fault after 1000 miles. Admittedly I have had my helmet stolen from it, and one night thieves broke in to steal the battery and fuses, but these are things that only happen once because you then make alternative arrangements as to where you keep it etc., and is more a factor of living in north London than the bike itself. Handling is great (better than Cagiva Mito anyway!), extremely practical and fast enough to beat nearly anything at the lights. What more do you need? My only criticism (and it is a small one) is the riding position which sometimes feels as though there's too much weight on your hands/handlebar. This may be more of a problem over very long distances (which is obviously not what this bike was designed for)

Have the bike for 8 months now and its barely been out of the shop, one thing seems to go wrong after the other. That said the last 3 months have been trouble free and it really is growing on me, Good handling, comfortable riding position and good looking bike, must say i'm getting tired of 55mph, any suggestions besides buying another bike?

I've had my Gilera DNA now for about 5 months or so. Great bike, looks fantastic and handles brilliantly. Its recently had a new barrel and piston. Its derestricted and top speed is 45 Tops! Anyone got any ideas of how 2 get it around the 60 mark? Im hoping to get a decent Zorst like a Leo Vince Chrome ZX or TT. Never had any problems with it. Starts 1st time. Got a Nice Ultra Bright Neon kit on it, Looks Great.
