Whoa! No transmition, no weight, no limit speed!! The Gilera DNA with only 50ccm and 101kg, and unrestricted goes up to 100 km/h. With a little home tune up it is a real beast!! It is a great looking sport bike with a heart of a scooter and soul of a speed demon! You must try it!!!

Gilera DNA 125 - Grey/RedAfter 1000 km I'm just getting the hang of "leaning" into curves and not "steering" around them. I love this little beast of a machine. In traffic it is a touch heavy but will out accelerate most if not all cars in a city setting. Fast, Fun and addictive.<
><
>Pros. <
>1, Fast, (never lost out to another scooter yet!)<
>2, Looks great. Italian styling say no more...<
>3, Fake fuel tank has loads of space<
>4, Light array is powerful and well thought out<
>5, After a little practice will handle like a dream<
>6, Great brakes, not too tight, not too loose<
><
>Cons<
>1, After 40/50 miles can get a bit uncomfortable<
>2, Water gets into the digital and analog instruments<
>3, Heavy<
>4, Cost<
>5, Fuel Consumption is fairy high<
>6, Small capacity fuel tank<

Gilera Runner

Review
I too have owned a Runner 125. Unfortunately like most scooters in my area it was stolen. But while I had it it was great. I had 50cc Panels so all the 50cc used to get a suprise at the lights. Compared with other 125s I have ridden the Runner 2 stroke comes out best. I have tried the 125 typhon, its very quick but feels too shakey to be a 125. And Yamaha's Maxtor is about the slowest 125 I have ever been on. Need to watch out for de-ristricted 50's!! The Runner 4 stroke is the best 4 stroke I have been on but doesn't have the pulling power of the 2's. But it does feel more solid. All in all I think the Runner is the best 125 around. It's got a few bugs in it. Like the automatic choke and flashing oil light. But I woundn't swop it for anything else except a 180.... I have a Runner 180 on the way and im thinking for modding it already. Have got a pipe and a re mapped CDI, look forward to fitting them. The only thing that realy annoys me about the Runner is that it is soooo easy to nick. Especally pre 2000 models. Make sure you bolt it the ground every night or it will be gone by the morning.

A treat to ride. Poor first couple of months with wrong clock delivered, broken forks, rotten engine mounts (Warranty items) and brake pads wearing out at 2000 miles. Scary servicing costs (

I bought my runner secondhand in November 2001 with the intention of only using it for commuting, but after 2 weeks I caught the bug and put on an arrow exhaust system. Since then I have fitted a polini 70cc kit, uprated gearing, 19mm carb and sports variator and it flies. It touches 80mph on the clock on the flat and outruns my sisters dna 125. Styling wise it has been painted in Kawasaki green with the world superbike decals. Also fitted a carbon front mudguard. There are still lots of things for me to put on it so I won't be selling it yet. It has been exremely reliable and is perfect for racing big bikes in town. The only gripe is the grease which smudges onto the fork legs but otherwise it is the best scooter/commuter I've owned. (even more fun than my 1200 bandit, believe it or not!)

AFTER HAVING MY DNA50 JUST OVER A YEAR NOW I'VE HAD NO REGRETS ABOUT GETTING IT. AFTER ALL IT GOES A LOT FASTER THAN ANY RS50. I THINK IF ANYBODY WANTS A 50cc THEY SHOULDN'T GET ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE GOOD OLD DNA.
