A brilliant first bike going up from a 125cc after passing a restricted bike licence as the BHP for this 400cc bike is already set at 33bhp so no restrictor kit needed.

Easy to work on when tinkering, my first bike i worked on myself and i managed to completely strip it with the help of a patient girlfriend and a haynes manual. bits are easier to get than i first thought for it being an import, a little searching on google goes a long way!

Comfort wise its seen me do a fair few miles and i wasn't still like i had been on a few sports bikes before, pilion wise my girlfriend says it always felt comfortable.

MPG we're from what i know not too bad altho it was always KMPG as my clock wasn't converted, but it did about 170KM before hitting reserve then i'd only taken it as far as 190km before filling. To fill completely cost £10-11.

Ok it wasn't the pretiest bike on the roads but it made up for it in comfort, MPG and the noise they make, they have a very distinctive growl that even my new bike can't compete with.

Overall i'd say a perfect bike to do your 2yrs on after passing a restricted test or first step onto the "big bike" ladder.

I bought the bike nearly a year ago as a Jap import with 5000KM on the clock.I have done 25000KM now and the bike still looks and goes like a new bike. The Bros is a 33BHP machine that means it was good for my new license. The V-twin engine is lovely and by fitting a sports exhaust on to the machine you really get the most from it. The bike uses a lot of sports components that would have been fitted to the Honda VFR400 at the time. Alloy frame, elf single sided suspension arm. The V-twin engine is a smaller version of the 650 that goes in the NTV, but the drive is by chain. The bike has lots of torque and has no problem with acceleration past 70MPH. In fact I would say it races through the gears to 90MPH very quickly, with a top speed around 105/110MPH. I normally get really good economy around 60MPG from my commute to work, but the tank is really small so this only becomes a 120miles. The suspension is a little on the soft side, as with most 400cc non sports bikes, but I like this as it makes the bike very easy and comfortable. In fact I was quite happy on the bike for 6hours doing London to Scotland. Being a naked street bike (with a retro look) you get all the normal draw backs at high speed (over 80 MPH ) with lack of protection. For a 12 year old machine, that goes like a new bike, you get a lot of bike for the money. Normally I do 300-400 miles a week with no issues, just service the bike and ride. Good ride, good handling, great sound, quick
