I got this bike on my 16 birthday, bright monza Aug 89. She was 5 years old and had 3500 and 1 owner sitting all alone in the corner of Bill Buns and 500 pound. "Get the fizzy" I still hear my mates saying. In the year I owned her I did 35,000 thrashed miles and boy did I love evey mile. She never once let me down until the day I had the MOT done 1 year after purchase. We went everywere we could - Chelsea Bridge and Box Hill - even took her from London to Newcastle, 600 mile round trip, she comfortably did 55mph. The only 50cc to ever beat her was a brand new apriliia AF50. the ba*"@rd. she is now dead but never ever forgoten B687 POY.

The MBX is a nice looking bike. I am in the process of re-spraying mine so it will look original once I have finished. When I first bought it, it wasn't running very well. So fitted a new piston and had an engine rebuild. It now sounds and runs as sweet as a nut. But these bikes are heavily restricted. Mine does about 35mph on a flat. The best way to make it faster is get a 70cc big bore kit, a bigger carb and a racing pipe and they should do around 55-60mph estimate. Thats what I intend to do soon. 50cc.nl is a wicked site for getting parts off. Also should beat most scooters off the line as it is geared. If you want even more speed, a Honda H100 lump drops right in with a bit of adjustment. The Honda MBX is rare and I have not yet seen one on the road. Very reliable I forgot to say.
