After coming from a BMW 650 i was initially put off by the sportier riding position but this only took about a day to get used to. I have the full fairing model which is well worth getting It looks great and i get almost too much attention form passers by. It looks far sportier than it is. Sounds great with an aftermarket exhaust. Build quality seems solid.

Suzuki SV650
Fantastic all rounder bike for riers of all ages.
Handles well, great top speed and a comfortable riding position. As it is a v-twin it sounds great and pulls away quickly with loads of tourque.
As well as the SV650 being a nippy, all rounder 650 it has sharp and attractive good looks.

Suzuki SV650
Suzuki SV650 Sport. Sports bike. Faired. V engined. 650. Ronseal bike. Does what it says on the tin.
Everything works, barring perhaps the visual appearance of the rear LED lights, which seem to have landed from another styling planet, but that's subjective. Sporty, but not very, position. Handles well, but not drastically. Pulls well, but actually seems happier as an autobahn basher where protection is pretty good, nothing seems too over-worked and all the component parts seem happy to keep up. V-twin engine may not be to everyone's liking: it never sounds like it's really going anywhere in a hurry, it doesn't have enough cubes to have a really useful midrange, and off throttle it snatches at the rear wheel like an anchor crying "slipper clutch" please. But that isn't the point. Yes, it's slightly crude, slightly vibey, but just look at what it costs, or rather doesn't cost!
Big kicks per buck. Free restriction. A perfect first big(ish) sporty(ish) bike?

Suzuki SV650
These really are superb bikes. Enough to satisfy hardened bikers and user friendly enough for newbies.
Luvverly punchy V-twin engine throbs out great lumps of power in a georgeous way.
A truly sorted package which delivers sweet handling, characterfull engine and powerfull brakes.
You will not be dissappointed, though I am as I've got to sell mine..too many kids to feed.!
Get one and enjoy.!

Suzuki SV650
Brilliant bike! Its fast enough, handles and stops well and sounds awesome with a Scorpion race can!
Rides superb with lashings of torque, good for both commuting and a bit of scratching!
Only down sides.. finish needs a lot of TLC to keep it good and wind blast at high speed.A brilliant all round package.

Great bike for hooligans and learners alike. I dream of a KTM Superduke but with my tiny budget believe that the SV is the closest thing out there. brilliant for mono'ing high and long and chucking around.
great all round bike for commuting, track and touring....go buy one now!

Great bike for learners and hooligans alike. I dream of a KTM Superduke and believe this is the closest you can get with a tiny budget. Just add some tiny mod's- new pads, hoses, tail tidy and Renthals and you have a sweet all round hack for track, commuting and even long distance riding. BUY ONE!

Ive had mine for over a year now and apart from the odd problem with the front cylinder it is an all round great bike. Cheap, cheerful and keeps up with the pack.
P.s. Keep an eye on your fuel level...

I bought this bike after having the 650 version for a couple of years. The first thing that you will notice is the extra shove from the 996 cc engine. After the 650 it just pulls so strongly from low down through to near the end of the rev range. It is revvy for a twin, the sweet surge of power comes in around 7000 - 9500 rpm but tails off after so running up to red line isnt neccesary. I have aftermarket BOS cans on which give off a deep engine bass tone, and transform in to an 'on song' howl at higher revs. The acceleration from 0-100 mph, and exiting corners is a match for sports 4 cylinders, and for normal riding is very spirited. It will lose out on the fours on top end acceleration but then twins are a different ride altogether anyway. The one gripe about the engine I have is that it is slightly lumpy under 4000 revs, so pull aways arent as smooth, and there is a slight vibration at around 3300 rpm, that at first seems concerning but is a charachteristic of these bikes. Another slight issue is on holding a constant throttle in 5/6 gears around 3500 rpm there is an occasional 'cough' from the fuelling and a resultant misfire, although this is rare and probably just something a fuel remap can eradicate. The seat is relatively comfartable and good for a couple hundred miles before I feel I need a stop, although the fuel economy will stop you long before this. It is thirsty, and a 100 miles will see the fuel light come on, with about 40 miles in reserve after this.
