This is a brilliant first bike. It handles really well, is economical and isn't too bad power wise. Can get to 65mph quite easily. I've covered over 3000 miles in about 7 months & enjoyed every minute of them. Its a great around town commuter bike but equally took me to the Lake District without any problems. Would recommend this bike as a good all round 1st bike - and its a looker too!

just to add a note to the review I did last year. I uprated the front end with progressive wound springs worth doing. and if you want a rear rack hepco & becker do one that fits well so you can fit a topbox.

I have had my TS50x since January and the only thing that has gone wrong is my clutch cable. The bike does 60mph with no problem and more room to go faster! I'm only got my TS50x for £180! bargain hay? Lol a recomended bike for someone who wants to learn gears and for a easy reliable bike!

What an amazingly underrated bike, due to its bigger Gixxer brother it seems the "Teapot" gets forgotten about.
Although with around 80 BHP and a 0-60 of around 4.5 secs its no slouch and with a couple of careful mods will easily keep up with modern sportsbikes.
I bought mine for the tidy sum of £300 with another £150 going on it for the MOT but its only done 29k miles so should be good for a few more yet due to the ever reliable bandit engine. Seriously for a first bike you cant go far wrong.

Had the chance to get on this one when looking after it for a mate.
Lovely machine if you like chrome and leather. Ride for 1 hour then clean it for 2.
Good handling for a shorty like me with the low seat.
Not brilliant on fuel but not a guzzler either.
Plenty of poke to boot.
Bad points..... Manual choke.
The gear shift seized up which i am told is common.
The road debris gets baked on by the engine heat, not too bad but really inconvenient.
Other than that an ok machine.
