i used to have an aprilia rs 125 on n 02 plate, one day i was at a local bike meet and i spotted what looked like a ducati so i wndered over for a look and realisedit was a cagiva on closer inspection, i've got to have one of those beast i thought, week later i sold my rs and bought a second hand mito in red and white with gold wheels on an 04 plate. the previou owner alreasy de-restricted it and fitted an arrows race exhaust and malossi air filter, i rode it to some back roads near me and gave it some, wow i loved it, it handled relly well and really pulls. i could really get my knee down in the corners and accelerate out of them what felt like silly speed lol. alot better then the rs on looks. ride feel, speedand handling, i get lot of attention on it aswell wth cars and other bikers beeping and nodding as i pass. all y maes have corsas and saxos and they are all jealous of my mito and all want one. buy one and you'll fall in love trust me. not had any of the problems mentioned by other owners so far, 9 out 10

I saw one of these bikes out and about and thought, i want one of these. I bought a 2004 red one and loved it that much i went out and bought a brand new one. Sold the 2004 one. Unfortunately the new one was de-restricted so i got a new performance spark plug, new Arrow full exhaust system and had the card re jetted. What a difference! For 125cc these bikes certainly move. They look the part and certainly have performance. I have no regrets and love my Cagiva Mito!!!

As i'm a short arse and didn't get on with my Duke 749 I tried the Raptor. It is absolutely perfect!! I put Leo Vince cans on and it sounds awesome, probably a bit too loud and turns heads way before you get there! I get the odd flame now and again on overrun, which looks great at night. Unrivalled power from the TL1000 suzuki engine which is bullet proof. Comfort coming from a Duke is wonderful although for the pillion a bit uncomfortable due to the vibration of sitting on top of those 2 big cans.
Loads of torque, however a slightly negative point is the fuelling is a bit jerky but you soon get used to it even if your pillion doesn't.
I'd give it 9.5 out of 10.

Cagiva Planet
I've had more bikes than I can remember and decided to settle for a little one for commuting.
I thought that I'd spend lots of time looking for the best bike I could find, naturally I decided this was the bike for me and found a 2000 import kept in storge for 7 years. I couldn't let her sit there in pristine condition wanting to be ridden so I bought it.
After a service and some cosmetic improvements it's perfect. I'm sticking my neck out here but..actually I'm not; anyone with eyes will admit this is one of the best looking bikes around and unquestionably the best of all 125s.
The performance is not up there with Mitos and RS 125s, but who cares when it looks so, so much better.
It's 23hp 2 stroke, the engine is fantastic!
The top speed on mine is around 90 and some will do 0-62 in 5.3 seconds. The 6 speed gear box is great for humiliating car drivers off the line if you can take the inevitable noise from a stroker. The sound is suprisingly nice for a 2 stroke but only from 4th to 6th.
The handling is fantastic, it's so light and nimble that you are willed to take corners at great speeds and you won't feel it twitch. The riding position is high and stable, the rear brake and gear selector are perfectly positioned and the comfort is unrivalled.
Overall, This bike looks good, sounds good, rides extremely well. Whether you are a first time rider or seasoned pro you'll love it.

Being a female and on the short side and having had various superbikes in the past- Fireblades etc that required having seats made lowered so I could ride them properly the V-Raptor 1000 was a match made in heaven due to the fact that this bike has got the power and the thrills but enclosed in a smaller package, easy to ride but can tend to show earth sky earth if you are a bit heavy handed.
excellent on twisty roads although a bit of a head shaker if you gun it, but remains on the tarmac all the same.
Unusual styling, beauty is in the eye of the beholder -but the Italians have thought about it - which shows in the attention to detail on the zig zag claws throughout the bike on various parts. clocks could be better as although triangular and cool not very practical.
Be prepared to have a good set of Allen keys as most parts seem to be required to be moved with one size of key or another. Quite thirsty on the petrol, but good fun to ride and always brings a smile to your face. Standard carbon cans sound and look good (For standard0 but up and under cans give the bike a meaner look and sound.
Brakes are ok, hoses could do with improving depending how you ride. Comfortable for aboout 80 miles then you need to stretch your legs, but seat comfort ok not too much of a numb bum or vibration.
All in all, a good bike if you want something different from the crowd, but be aware not too many trick bits available for them, and parts can be a pain to get quickly. If you want a big smile on your face and to be differnt this is the bike for you.

Beautiful ducati monster replica. Overlooked and underrated due to its expensive and often rider-abused brother the Mito. The best all round 125 available due to combination of all round handling (much smaller turning circle than Mito so easy to ride anywhere on the road), performance (slightly slower than Mito but better acceleration), ease of maintenance (no fairing to remove) & looks. Like all 2 strokes it needs derestricting and rejetting to get an exciting ride out of it. Add an after market exhaust to further improve performance. A decent 2nd hand Raptor 125 is much lower in price than an equivalent condition Mito (if you can find a decent 2nd hand Mito that is!). Buy with confidence if maintained well and derestricted.

I have had my Cagiva for a few mouths I call it my later pocket rocket because every time youu twist the throttle it takes off. Just had a flame job on it the colour is metallic black with flame. Lovely! I fell in love with the bike because it looks like a Ducati 916/748. I would recommend this bike to anyone. I have had it tuned and dyno'd and got around 40bhp. lovely!

Absolute nightmare, unreliable, fragile, and just generally uncomfortable to ride, useless mirrors, drains the battery really quickly.I had this bike for arund two months it was a 2001 model evo I bought it from a dealer as well and what can I say broke down within the first 8 miles of me riding it and it was raining not a good start, then second time out it did it again this time a 2.5 mile push was the outcome. If you want a 125 do not buy one of these they look fantastic but you will be pushing it more than riding it and that is not a joke. I spent more than £300 pounds in two months on this bike and wow rode it for less than 90 miles waste of money and time the only good thing is the lesson I learned.
