When you twist the throttle in whatever gear you are in and the needle redlines, just hold on to your privates (and the bike) this baby will suddenly turn into a beast and accelerate and pass any machine from the traffic lights. My recomendation is to change the standard 41 tooth sprocket to a 45 tooth this won't make your bike any more fuel friendly but it will beef up your performace, as this bike has the looks of a sexy italian you get the respect of all the bikers on the road (and the ladies). Looking like the Ducati 916 it hasnt got far to go on the performace, once you see this bike you will fall in love and no matter what, you will never two time this machine (unlike my girlfriend, but dont tell her that)

This is a very very pretty bike. I fell in love when I first saw it, It looks like a proper bike, good wide tyres, big brembo brakes, top suspension.. the seat doesn't look too great though. It is a 2 stroke so unfortunately it sounds like one, it's not quite a hair drier but it is the unmistakable sound that will turn some drivers of bigger bikes into instant snobs. My bike is still restricted and has a top speed of 120kph and it will get here quick enough, not lightning fast but quick enough. With this bike you're better off not trying to race the Aprilias (unless it's de-restricted or modified) but you can be smug in the knowledge that your bike is just so much prettier and much less common on the roads. I haven't had any reliability issues yet but it is something I am worried about. The parts will probably be tricky to get. Handling is really good, much better than my old TZR, gears are a little bit tricky though, has a little habit of shifting into neutral occasionally..

I've just gone ahead and bought my first bike, its obviously the Cagiva Mito, coz looks wise there aint a better bike. Once driving it dont even feel like its 125cc, knocks out 100mph on the A406 north circular road no problems. Absolutely loving it. RUFF RYDE.

I have been riding my Canyon 500 for a while now and can say that it is one of those rides you don't soon forget. The twin exhausts give the bike a very deep, powerful and balanced sound. this does have its draw backs though. the fact that it is a 4-stroke single cylinder does mean that the engine is very loud. The control layout is a bit cramped but you don't notice till you start wearing you winter gloves. I have caught the horn going for high beams quite a few times recently. The glove box behind the windshield is a nice touch but does not hold great amounts. Light paperwork only. The road handling is quite something. the bike is so well balanced with the weight extremely low to the ground. This means that until high winds strike the bike is solid as a rock. Unlike a lot of bikes where you might drop it and you damage the paintwork and panels the bar ends protrude far enough to protect you and you paintwork. Just remember to remove your foot sharp-ish though. My only major concern is to the lack of parts and workshop manuals. Cagiva please pull your thumbs out. I bought it from a small bike shop in my local area and must admit it cost me

I bought the Mito (pre 916 days) on the cheap, it needed work... and work it has had, countless coolant leaks, failing starter, to name a couple... of the times it did actually start and perform as it should... dire... its just one disappointment after another (my old TZR woulda smoked it) Parts and consumables were expensive and with a waiting list... my advice... get a jap bike (suzi RG/Honda NSR/Yam TZR/RR.. 20/100 (generously)

I have had the bike since it was 6 months old and it ended up back it the bike shop with starter problems. This is a common problem and I'm now waiting for a new starter motor from Cagiva which is taking forever. It's a shame a few weak components let down an otherwise great bike.

I have just bought a Cagiva Mito Evo with a GSE racing paint job and it looks the mutts nutts! I was suprised with the power in the little thing, it goes like sh!t off a shove as soon as you hit 7000rpm. There is nothing wrong with Honda NSR's and they are better than the Aprilia RS! And to all of you RS lovers - they look crap, sound crap, handle crap, the riding position is crap overall they are CRAP!

This bike is the muttz nutz!! I bought it for 1500ukp as it had minor fairing damage from a 5mph spill. At first it did 65-70 mph then my friend played with exhaust and turned powervalve up the right way and it now carries my 20+ stone frame to 95+ mph with the handling to match. I am in love with it! ride hard and safe people and remember its a jungle out there!!
