Got my Gpr end of july and a couple of weeks later i found that if the engine is cold starts first time everytime, but once its the slightest bit warm the electric start has no chance even with choke, has to be bumped which is annoying as i am in a very hilly town, my friend has a aprillia rs50 but the 08 plate, looks exactly the same and has the same problem! even the bike shop doesnt have a clue!Does any one else have the same problems? Other than that it is a great bike, great fun to ride and even standard mine keeps up with alot of the other peds! :P

I got my derbi gpr a few weeks ago, the day after i bought it, the engine seized up, the conrod had seized solid on the crank, luckily i know a mechanic, and a person who has derbi gpr race bikes, i got a hebo manston racing 50 cc top end kit, and a standard crank quite cheap, and after running it in i can easily say the bike is brilliant, it tops out about 72 mph at about 11,000 rpm, it still has the standard carb on it and a gianelli exhaust on it, it leaves any other 50cc bike or ped for dust, and it can even keep up with some 125's. the handling on it is brilliant, ive never had so much confidence in my life in cornering but this thing just wants to keep going turn after turn, its brilliant, and i have even got my knee down on the bike, comfort i would rate as poor, but what do you expect for a bike like this, and you get used to it after a while anyway. I have big plans for this bike including a 24mm malossi race carb and filter, a hebo manston 80cc race kit, a metrakit race exhaust, hebo crank, and hebo reedblock, and then get it ported and tuned by stan stephens, that will be done when im 17, but its quick alredy anyway, its a brilliant bike.the fuel consumption is pretty good, considering it has a small tank.

I currently own a rare Festina (yourochi) Race rep only 1000 off them launched. This Bike looks Stunning. The bike handles like a dream flys straight into courners. Throttle back and i fly. I easily over take the mopeds out there. all i have done is change the sprokets to up the top end and still get by modified peds. Only downside to the bike is that i live in england and the parts can be a tad annoying to get hold of so i go to bike-spares to get hold of them. Other than that the bike is supurb for a 50.

I have a derbi in the youichi ui replica colours which i must add looks brilliant! In standard form, and i mean standard it did 52mph and this was genuine (clocked by car). The bike speedo read just shy of 100kph which was supposed to be indicating that i was doing around 60-62mph. So don't go by the speed on your bikes speedo. I hear people saying i got 70mph etc standard with a bit of jetting and an arrow exhaust. Now i have an arrow exhaust and i have upjetted and does it give 70mph, simple answer is no. It only gives better acceleration, more pull and a sharper powerband. No increase in top speed. Change the sprockets and then your laughing. Standard gearing is 12/52, i changed mine to 15/52 and it did 60-65mph genuine, but read 110kph (70mph) on the bikes speedo. Top rpm was around 11000rpm but it rarely got there because of the tall gearing.
I was getting a bit bored of my brother beating me on his aprilia af1 1992 sintesi replica with polini 70cc big bore kit managing just over 65mph, so i decided to go one better than him and get a polini 80cc cast iron big bore kit, hebo reed cage, carbon fibre reeds, same arrow exhaust, 17.5mm carb with 102 main jet and 15/52 gearing. The acceleration is unbelievable and tops out at 72mph at 12000rpm, and truthfully it beats honda cbr125's and keeps up with many other 125's on acceleration. Fantastic bike and there are no lies about performance here!! If anyon has any questions email me at: vanda@brown26626.fsnet.co.uk
or take a look at my video on youtube, type in 'derbi gpr50 polini 80cc' has 50cc and 80cc including full setup. Evan.

this was a brilliant little bike , the moment i saw my mates gpr i fell in love and knew i had to have one
eventualy my mates dad (dealer and mechanic) had one for sale , so i saved up my money and bought it , it was amazing to ride incredibly quick for what it is a true pleasure to ride mine was still restricted apart from it had a arrow race exhuast system on it and did bout 74mph
its well worth its money , they are quite tricky to maintain though , and there electrics arent there strong point , my indicators break light horn and starter motor all stopped working the day after i bought it but tht isnt a problem as u can bump start it within about 1 foots distance fuel consumtion is also a slight problem as mine only did about 40 miles to the gallon but overall a brilliant machine

Derbi GPR 50

Well, all I can say is that this is one quick little 50. Had it nearly a month and I think it is fully de-restricted as it will do 60mph max.
Its all standard though, no performance parts on it.
The Electrics are quite bad, indicators just went on me one day, my dad fixed them (electrician), then the starter went also, he fixed that, next time I went out, the headlights stopped working!! Also I have to charge up the battery every week, or 2 depends how much you use it.
Apart from that its been the best.

Beaten every single thing off the lights so far, but then again I haven't been against a big bike or fast car.
It seems pretty comfortable, the longest ride i've done is around 40 minutes, not got uncomfortable once.
MPG is less than I thought, only does about 40-50mpg at most.
I just can't wait to get my big bore kit, carb, exhaust, air filter, cranks, sprockets, etc. As i've heard they do over 80mph!
Overall, brilliant bike, well worth the money.

Derbi GPR125
I didnt have the GPR but I did have a Gilera SC125 which is the exact same apart from the Gilera has some slight tuning that makes it abit faster then the GPR. It has to be the best looking 125cc bike around at the moment (until the yamaha YZR125 comes out)

The Yamaha is out now...ed
