Honda NS 125cc 85/86 (C)
Overall Rating:
Review
Hi ive got a honda ns125f. Im a mature rider and ive had this bike since 93. (not riden from 99-2009) This is a larger bike so it suits the taller rider. Its not fully faired but this one proves that a bike can still look brilliant without one. I love this bike because its so rare. Its in Rothmans colours too, the best colour scheme, with a single seat cowell on the back and chrome Allspeed exhaust. i doubt theres anyone out there with one in better condition than mine but if so id like to see it!!
Forget trying to get 90 + out of these sort of bikes. Yes they can get there with some tweeking but its a 125 single so unless your trying to wreck the engine just enjoy the accelleration and cornering abilities. Its not as if youll be doing much motorway riding on it! Also a 2 stroke engine that isnt warmed up properly is soon to become a shagged engine!
Other than this 125 I would only really consider an NSR125.

Honda City Fly 125cc Sept '00 (X)

This is a cracking bike for learning on. The riding position is pretty comfy. I'm 6ft2 and have done 160 mile trips with the occasional stop. most other 125's felt too small. It holds the road on bends really well too. great for commuting, nice and nimble through the traffic and beats most cars at the lights. It's good up to 40mph then has to work but will sit at 60mph no problem. Had it up to 70+. Looks good for a 125, 200 miles for £10!Thoroughly recommend it if you can find a good one!

Honda XL Varadero 1000cc Sept '01 (51)
Overall Rating:
Review
Having bough my Varadero i have been nothing but impressed. My wife has recently bought a Ducati Monster and my daughter a CBR600 F, myself and my Honda Varadero take the lead on all ride outs! It has a certain presence on the road due too it's size but the 1000cc engine makes filtering and overtaking a breeze.

At the end of a long biking day the two girls will be aching and complaining but the comfort of the Varadero is out of this world. I have been to both France and Wales on the bike once again proving the reliablity of Honda, you just don't have too worry! The bike will just keep going!

Another big fan of this bike is our family dog, a Jack Russell called Boomer. I have actually created a carrier that i can fit to the back of the bike and the dog can come out! He absolutely loves it...... as soon as the bike is wheeled out of the garage he's up on the seat waiting!

I've attached a few pictures of Boomer having a ride round our field on the bike.

My overall review of this bike is 4/5, the braking and handling are't amazing but it more than makes up for this with comfort, running costs and reliability.

Great first bike, highly recommended. The Honda Cbr 125 r is a great bike, its sleek, stylish looks attract attention, and so it should. The very light bike is great through corners as the rider is able to throw the bike from corner to corner without any troubles at all. In the wet the bike handles well and obviously with care has no serious problems. So to conclude the Honda Cbr 125 r, is a great bike to introduce an individual to riding, it looks great, low maintenance and its extremely reliable!

Honda CBR 600cc Apr '00 (W)

I passed my DAS course at the end of July 09 and bought myself a CBR600 F as my very first bike.

I have to say that i couldn't be happier. From what i hear from all bikers i have made an excellent choice to start my biking experience. As a girl the seat is low enough to get my feet nearly all the way on the floor, and i don't find it to heavy. On the first day i bought it home i took my partner out pillion on the back.

I covered over 1000 miles so far and most of it with my partner Liam on the back!!

Not really a technical review but i do love my CBR600 F!!

Honda MTX 50cc 89/90 (G)

I am writin this review to let people know that they cant be deceaved by the number 50, i have a mtx 50 and this thing goes like a bomb!!!! On initial pull off its a bit slugish but once you reach 3rd gear and get into the band and 4th and so on you just begin takin off. I love the comfort the bike gives and recently i have re spray painted the bike. The bike can go almost anywhere (even if eventually you have to be in first gear) yeah. Hardly ever hav any problems with the bike. If you haven't tried this bike yet you must go out and try it.

bought my first bike back in sept 2005 a black and white one, ride the bike every day inc winter about 60 - 70 miles, i started off doing 30/40 40/50 mph to run it in its had full service, now going in for 55,000 miles service. must have spent the same amount of money on the bike just on services. had a few problems on the way wiring loom is one of my worst problems, recently added a 180cc kit and rejetted, k+n filter and two devil exhausts (got someone to make a customize downpipe to spit it in to two pipes) so one exhaust on the right and the other on the left looks more like a 600cc it is extremly loud. bought a single race rear seat panel under tailtidy(no back seat) new swing arm (black), tyres dont last very long no point in buying bridgestones you burn the rubber off them in 3-4 months. waste of money. have red neons in the engine area and going under the tail tidy also bought rainbow eyes and a rear hugger and a rear 150 light unit. probily spent in 4 years on the bike about 3-5 k includes services / panels accessories.

for more info on the cbr here a link http://www.125ccsportsbikes.com/forums

added pictures first one shows rear bought a single race rear seat panel under tailtidy(no back seat)

second one was standard 2005 bike

last pic is of the devil exhaust

The Big Red Pig in a nutshell is an extremely fast off-road desert racer straight out of the box! In the UK ownership tends to be limited to road use and green-laning, so it doesnt really get to show its true colours. I have used mine on motorways, b-roads, desert (morocco) and green lanes. Motorways it is painful above 70mph as the engine does not hold steady revs and any movement of the throttle has a huge affect either way, making it very twitchy and far from relaxing. B-roads with road tyres it has to be the most fun I have ever had on two wheels! It handles like a bicycle and has so much response out of corners its hard to stop trying to race anything that moves. In the Desert it is superb and it gives you the feeling you could enter the Dakar rally on it. Green-laning it is too much power for tight tracks and can jolt at low revs so wide open tracks suit it more.

The XR650R is not smooth, not comfortable but it is the most fun on two wheels if you are a dirt biker wanting to ride on road sometimes and tour b-roads. It is super reliable like all Hondas as long as you follow the manual and is dead easy to work on.

Honda VFR 400cc 86/87 (D)
Overall Rating:
Review
Don't get me wrong - I loved the 1980's.
But unfortunately, I've always hated 80's bikes.
Horrible square headlamped dogs with far too many wide go-faster stripes for my liking.
That is until now ...
My VFR400R left the production line as I left school.
We ventured into the world all shiny and new.
Both wanting to be different.
With the VFR's Pro-arm and white wheels - it certainly had a very distinctive look about it.
Fantastic handling. Very light weight so happily slings itself in and out of bends. Bit cramped for the tall I fear with your elbows fouling your knees if you should be 6ft and over. A pleasant surprise though for the shorter legged - finally a sports bike that didn't require step ladders to get onto.
The roar from the V4 is cracking and with the right exhaust can fitted this lion can sound awesome.
Reliability wise - well just one word for you = Honda
And as for a square headlight ... Thankfully Honda were kind.
