Honda CBR 125cc Sept '05 (55)

Being as it's a 4t and no way of derestricting as it isn't restricted, don't bother trying to get 2t 125 performace as it's not a 2t. Plus tuning options are limited and don't give much in the way of performance increase for the money.
But for the job I bought the bike for it's great, had many a scooter kid claiming to have top ends of 100mph+ race me and lose miserably. It's a commuter but it's fun and it does that job brilliantly!! Much like the old Crunch but easier on the eye, quicker and just as reliable. As for top end? I've had 90 on a dual carriageway whilst slipstreaming 5 cars @11K rpm, good enough for me for a 4t A good all round performer indeed.

Just brought the big pink sofa model(benneton colours) apart from needing the right size rear tyre as it's got a 180 fitted the bike is superb, quick smooth and all works just nicely. Needs some decent brake pads, organic ones arn't up to the job, DP sdp's should sort the stopping and make far less mess on the wheels. Corbin seat due any day so miles of fun and no sore bum.

First big bike after passing test and what a choice. Fast, smooth, reliable and looks superb. Handling is amazing and good to build confidence on. Can make wrists ache a little but so what, most sports bikes will. I hope to have many years of enjoyment on this machine.

This bike handles better than most of the sportbikes I have been on although it is heavy in the corners. Still a great bike and have put over 13,000 miles on it in less than eight months

My first bike, very impressed with reliabillity and build quality. I also had trouble finding a new tyre so my local bike shop replaced it with a slightly bigger 110/80 Continental tyre. It looks so much better and feels much more positive on the lean. I would like to improve the performance to over 100mph though, like RichieB (below) has done to his. I know Arrow make a full exhaust system for the CBR125. I like the sound of that K&N ram air thing too if it's true. Apart from the neons, it sounds sweet. I've had 85mph out of mine (flat against the tank with slight tailwind) and 99ron petrol makes a surprising improvement.

CBR125 has probably got top speed of 65-70mph. I've always had 2 strokes and they do between 80 and 100mph derestricted. I've had 70 out of an SR125 which is a four stroke that only revved to 7grand. Sachs XTC125 is abetter bike with 15bhp so probably 80mph.

Bought after returning to motorcycling now kids have grown up and getting rid of wife (ouch). Bought it from a dealer and it was the salespersons bike who was a very careful owner.. 1900miles in three years! Had to have MoT but looked brand new, in fact engine was still tight to a certain extent. It is my plaything and only gets used in the hot summer days, I did winter & rain in the 70's thank you! They have come a long way since my CB750F1, adjustable everything and goes like shit of a shovel. Cheap insurance and equally cheap road tax. It does everything I want it to do and more. Have put some quality lasercut decals on it.. the large gold HRC ones on the rear unit look great. All servicing done by myself although I am going to leave the valve clearances to the dealer.. a winter job when it is layed up. I have fitted red Goodridge hoses which look great and make braking even better. Any moans.. the headlamps are okay but I never night ride anyway, takes me a few weeks to get used to the riding position (aching wrists, back etc) but that is sports bikes.
Tyres..I put Continental RoadAttack on as they had good wearability and are sticky enough for me. May trade it in for the newer 600 as it looks the biz
