I have been riding bikes for many years but gave up my last bike (Honda Deauville) due to back problems.
After nearly a year without a bike I realised just how much I missed it so went searching for a lighter bike with a more upright riding position.
Am I glad I found the Hyosung Aquila GV250.
This bike is pretty amazing.
It's very comfortable to ride over long distances, very easy to handle whether in city traffic, on the motorway or out in the country. For anyone who wants an economic bike then this is it. Great fuel economy, providing you don't want to drive at top speed all the time. It doesn't matter if I'm commuting or cruising I am getting over 200 miles for £10 of fuel.
No problems with reliability but would recommend changing the makers battery as it doesn't seem to have a long life, since I changed mine no problems at all.
For anyone looking for a great little cruiser then this is the bike for you. I sometimes think I might like something a little more powerful but then why spend extra for fuel, insurance and maintenance when I am more than happy with the bike I've got.

I REALLY love this bike, i have been riding for about 8 years and have had three other bikes but this is the best bike i have riden. The only drawback is the same as the other reviewer says. The finish is quite bad and you are forever cleaning it. If the finish was better then i would say that this really is my dream bike.

Bought my GV250 from a careful owner for under £600. fantastic! So easy to ride. Beautifully balanced for straight roads, handles corners with ease. I live in Aberdeenshire, so I know it can handle some good inclines. Have had the bike 2 up (And I'm no light weight). Sound big. Looks bigger. Feels soooooo relxed and cruises all day at 65mph, with more than enough extra for overtaking.
Parts can be harder to get hold of. Spare keys will need to be duplicated from the dealer or from a decent key cutters as the starter key is not a standard blank. (In eeded to photocopy my key to send it off for duplication. Cost £12.00 for 2 copies)
Can't recommend this bike enough.Perfect for riding after DAS. Perfect for building skills. And what an eye catcher!

We bought our son a rt 125 karion from our local bike showroon. he has had it 4 months and it has spent nearly half of that time off of the road waiting for parts. The last part took nearly 3 weeks to arrive. Despite assurances from the dealership parts are diificult to get as the importers don't stock them. we had to wait 2 weeks for indicator lenses.
On the whole my son enjoys his bike and as a budget buy its is good value. We paid £1200 for it.
I wish that we had bouhgt him a bike from one of the big four brands.
if your looking for a reasonabley good bike buy one of these, If your looking for a good bike with parts that aor easily obtainable buy from the big four.

NEW MOTORCYCLE ROAD TEST - HYOSUNG GT 650R
A VERY TEMPING ALTERNATIVE – LOOK OUT JAPAN
* What’s It all About?
South Korean’s largest manufacturer, Hyosung, have come a long way in a relatively short time. They’ve expanded their product range substantially in recent years and now offer a selection of machines stretching from inexpensive scooters to powerful sport bikes. One of their latest models, the Hyosung GT650R, is now challenging Japan’s and Europe’s best in the middleweight sports bike sector. Make no mistake, this bike offers an excellent riding experience for an incredibly low, value for money price.
* What Does It Cost?
£3,999 gets you a well made machine that most definitely stands comparison with some of the best motorcycles in its class. Compare that with models that it’s up against such as Ducati’s Multistrada 1100 at £7,750 and the BMW R1200R at £8,295. True, the Italian and German motorcycles offer better resale value and the brands more prestige but you can’t afford to ignore the Hyosung, especially as it feels a lot better built than other more expensive machines in it’s area of the market.
* How Does It Handle?
The Koreans have caught up with the competition and the Hyosung GT650R’s handling is agile and pretty competent. The front floating calibre twin disc brakes not only pull the bike up well but offer plenty of progressive feel. The front upside-down forks are fully-adjustable so that the bike’s handling characteristics can be altered to match rider tastes.
Ride comfort is exemplary while the riding position is better than that found on several rivals. Hyosung currently rely on good old-fashioned carburetion with two Mikuni carbs feeding the fuel rather than injection which turns out to be no bad thing. There’s excellent throttle response on tap with smooth power delivery and the fine, free revving V Twin engine produces decent midrange grunt, excellent for confident overtaking manoeuvres.
* Verdict
The Koreans have managed to do an excellent job with the GT’s styling. Yes, some detailing could be improved such as at the rear of the bike and around the front brakes, but overall the Hyosung’s appearance is pleasing to the eye.
Hyosung’s GT650R would please riders who need a machine for the daily commuter run during the week but want a bike that they can have fun with at the weekends. At £3,999 there’s nothing to touch it. Watch out world, the Koreans have arrived.
Hyosung’s GT650 range also includes the half-faired S model on sale at £3,899 and the naked GT650 which can be purchased for £3,599. The range is covered by a two-year manufacturer warranty.

Very reliable, very easy to get used to, and very cost efficient. This bike starts up first time every time, never had any problems, heard lots of good things about this bike, and read many great reviews about it too.
Fuel tank holds 8 litres and the bike does 90mpg. Being a 4 stroke engine means it doesn't eat up the petrol. It's a fairly quick bike off the spot, reached 50ph in 4 seconds, and done 71mph top speed. Could get 75mph if going downhill. So speedwise it's not amazing, but it's great for a run around and a lot better than some 4 stroke 125 bikes.
Has a nice beasty sound to it for a 125, being a 4 stroke gives it that "bigger bike" feel, not the lawn mower feeling you get with 2 strokes.
Handles really well around tight corners, nice to ride, comfortable to sit on. Been off road a few times, handles like a charm on dirt, but never tried slope climbing.
Cheap to run, pretty nippy for a 4 stroke 125, really reliable, nice appearance, looks and feels big, proper full size bike that doesn't make you feel like a child.
All in all it has to be one of the best 125 bike's in my opinion, it may lack in top speed, but it sure does deliver, performance wise, i'm very happy, done some long trips on this bike, never caused me trouble.
If you want a trails bike with a 125 engine, then this is is the bike to go for.
If you have any questions at all, anything about the bike whatsoever, feel free to just drop me an email at milkybarkiddo@hotmail.co.uk
Hope this helps

Im new to bikes and didnt have a clue what to buy. But this comet stuck out like a sore thumb! Just had to have it. I had herd so many good things about it and my partner whos a bike machanic liked it to (a bonus)!
Ive had the bike 3wks now and have loved every min of it. It handles just like a big bike(so my partner says, he owns a 1200 bandit so ill take his word for it)! It corners well, although i panic it still holds. Its soo conmfortable, i can ride for miles and not ache.
Ive covered just over 600miles and ive only spent £45 on fuel, with a tank full at the mo.
It looks the part. I didnt want a stupid little scooter. I wanted summat that had some sort of balls. It doesnt look like a 125. Ive had so many men ask me what size engine it is and wouldnt believe me when i said a 125. They thought it was de-resricted! The L plates kinda give it away. My bloke says without them you would never think it was that small an engine.
We have had to lower it 3" as im only 5"2. so its VERY low to to ground. It makes going above 30mph on bumpy country roads impossible as the bottom of the stand scrapes on the floor! This obviously wouldnt be a problem if i wernt so short!
It sounds good too. Not like these other 125s, that sound like you strangling a cat every time you open the throttle! Sounds like a big bike, well almost...
Should sound even better when i fit this remus can my bloke gave me! Fingers crossed!
Now the bad points...
The exhaust has rusted so badly it looks like it will crumble away! They say its £150 for a hyosung replacement?! The can does look good, till you look down the end of it.
Ive had problems with the gear box since day one. Its a bugger to get into neutral. Most of the time you have to turn the engine off then on and then it will do it. We ajusted the clutch leaver and that seemed to help a little. Im finding myself keep puting it into neutral instead of 1st or 2nd. It does it easily when you dont want it to!
Then this morning, i go out to go for a cruse along the coast on a bright summers day...and what do i find... both my fork seals have blown and oils pissing out, dripping down both sides all over my brakes and had made 2 lovely shiny puddles on the road! ffs! Turns out these bike are notorious for having pitting on the forks??? Bad chrome? Makes the seals blow and aparently costs £300 for new forks! Great...
So im not best pleased at the mo, as ill now have to go back to relying on the great british public transport... a bus.
Other than the fork seals and the gear box im extreamly pleased. Nothing that cant be fixed. Its a great ride and i would recomend it to anyone. Although I am bored of it now and am looking at selling it and getting a bigger bike once ive done my full test.
Any offers? lol

I'm new to driving bikes but i'v seen enough to know whats what, this bike exeeds all other 125's in looks no doubt but the speed is limited by its sheer size i would brand this the perfect starting bike, personlly i think it could be faster but who needs to go fast when your looking so f*****g cool!

Excellent bike but not without its flaws. Looks Fab, Handles stable due to massive tyres (can cost £90 to replace), i get 75mph fairly easy out of it. Sounds great with standard exhaust can. BUT, when buying check forks for pitting (small indents in chrome fork stantion) as the quality of chroming is poor and if the forks are pitted its £300 for a new set new as the seals will blow and piss oil. Rusts quickly, gearbox is rubbish compared to honda's. Mine has developed a flatspot at 5k revs (crap stuck in carb). but dont be put off its a great bike just buy it with the accoumpanyment of someone who knows there stuuf. (CHOOSE LOW MILEAGE OVER YEAR BUT DONT BUY PREVIOUS TO 04 AS 03 MODDELS ARE NOTOURIOUSLY BAD)
