I owned the yamaha Tw now for around 2 months and I have to say its a great little bike. I get at least 100 miles to a tank making it dirt cheap to run. People complain about its speeds of around 50mph-70mph but its fast enough for a 125 and fast enough to kill yourself.

What a good bike i recomend to anyone who wants to learn to ride a geared bike or somone who is moving up.

hi there, i had a tw125 when i was going in for my test and i loved this bike, its a real head turner, funky tyres, and a great upright riding position. you can really throw it round corners with full confidence.. the only bug bear is the top speed.After passing my test i got a suzuki 500gs which was great on power but i still missed the quirkyness of the tw... then my dream came true ! i found a TW200cc imported from america and immediatly part exed my suzuki for it.. its the same size as the 125 and really comfortable but with a bit more ooomph ! its also really economical too.. shame they stopped making these bikes because of fuel emissions in 2005... if you want a meatier yamaha try the mt03 which came out in 2006, definatly worthy of a test ride !! good luck !

Right a little education for all you sit and screw novices out there, the TW is a four stroke engine, not the 2 stroke blocks you have in your streetfights or whatever you have. - YOU CANNOT DE-RESTRICT SOMETHING THAT HASN'T BEEN RESTRICTED! - this is like making butter cut through steel. it aint gonna happen. as for the bike it handles fantastically and you can get 65 - 70 out of it just like i did 40 minutes ago, and mine has already done 28064 miles! the only way the bike will go faster is if you drop it out of a plane! if you want 65 - 70mph out of it try running it in abit and make sure you have good fuel, oil and look after the damn thing!

I ve got to do my bike test on one of these things, because my Yamaha XVS Dragstar might not be able to do u-turns.Ha! So reading about this bike I feel that its a pretty crappy bike. With my Dragstar I can get 70 out of it before hitting the limiter and can sit doing 60mph, also I noticed the amount of people saying or asking how to derestrict there bike. First of all its four stroke so no can do... sorry... its built to do what you can rag out of it.
Anyways I don't think this bike will be any good to ride.. shame.

Had my bike for about 2 months now and really enjoying it. good on and off road. only one complaint,.... yes I hate to say it 60mph downhill with a very strong wind behind you. surely theres a way to derestrict this machine. any ideas please make contact.

Greeeaaaaat bike! Tractor tyres ,Solid, good size, top end needs to be better. Any one know how to de-restrict it !!! Minty machine besides this.Get one now!\'Tis a tad heavy though compared to Honda CG say!

its a ok bike for a first. but go careful on the engine i managed to bend a valve in mine after 3 days not very good on speed not even down hill! i need to find someway of derestricting it!!!!!!!!
