As a 17 year old I bought an M-reg Suzuki GT185,and being a huge Barry Sheene fan had no choice but to stick with Suzuki.
Got my first 'Kettle' at 19, turned out to be a pup!
Over heating, Altenator not charging, switchgear problems, all in all endless grief, SCRAPPED!!
Undeterred I bought another 2 yrs later, again charging problems, fork seals, huge thirst for fuel and chains, riding it was like trying to run pushing a wheelbarrow full of wet cement with a flat tyre,I'm suprised I didn't DIE!,so it was sold.
Twenty five years later,(time clouded my memory)I paid £2000 for a really clean 'S' plate,it lasted 4 mths before a piston broke and wrapped the con rod round the crank on the M20 at 85mph (best ride in the park!)
Perhaps I was just unlucky with the 3 I owned but NEVER AGAIN!
Still admire 'em when I see one, great looking machine, but not for me two tried to kill me and one didn't work.
Nowadays I ride a Yamaha FJ 1200,well at least Barry Sheene did ride for Yamaha at one time......

When I bought my 1977 Suzuki GT750 it had a mouse nest where the air cleaner element was suppose to be. Soon after evicting the tenants, and a 30 minutes of tweaking I got her started. After which I paid the guy $350.00 and rode off.
These bikes are bullet proof, very reliable thanks to good Suzuki two stroke enginering, and water-cooling. The frame was a bit elastic so caution must be given when pushing it in to corners.

This is the 3rd GT750 owned by me in the last 27 years. It was restored in 2002 at approx cost of $5000 AUST DOLLARS and is a true delight to ride. I love the low down torque, and smooth power delivery. It always draws a small crowd when out .

I am 'modernising' my Kettle to accept GSXR1000K5 forks, swing arm, wheels/tyres and brakes! It's going to be gorgeous - retaining the classic 3-4 exhaust system . Should be complete for Christmas! Need 'new' clocks, speedo , rev counter, temp gauge, warning lights .Help please.

Best thing since sliced bread. Has seen two wives and now six grandchildren. My bike is like having another Son, but with less hassle! My GT750 is part of my family.

Bought my GT750A new in England in Sept. 1976, ran it until 1986 when I came to work abroad. I covered it with plastic sheets, and sprayed 2 tins of WD40 over it every year. Now with me, I've just (june 2002) put it back on the road in Bahrain. No problems, just a good clean was all it needed. So far no problems with the crankshaft seals, but the carburettor rubbers have hardened. It's done 58,000 miles to date, with only minor (Lucas RITA electronic ignition) problems. Mods have been alloy wheels, S&W air shocks, and the electronic ignition. Fuel consumption has varied from 28mpg (in the Isle of Man ) to 55mpg if you ride it very gently. Long may it continue to run.

I own a '74 buffalo in mint condition. It has aluminum canister factory pipes. I converted chain and sprockets to 630 from 530. It requires less adjusting and will not break. I did this because I broke two chains in one summer. Entire motor and most other aluminum parts have been polished to perfection. Bike is extremely fast, and handles well also, after insallation of a six position steering dampener and two new tyres.
