Countdown to new motorcycle tests Countdown to the new motorcycle test The new practical motorcycle test is being introduced from 29 September 2008 to comply with European legislation, which aims to improve the standard of road safety for motorcycle and moped riders. This user group has been identified as having a high risk of injury or death; this is particularly the case for young and inexperienced riders.

Buell experience days Leicestershire’s motorcyclists are being invited to take part in a different riding experience this month at Mallory Park. The Buell Experience Day on 25 July will be the third of four in 2008, following the success of similar events last year. The remaining event of 2008 will take place on the 19 August at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire.
I seem to have reached a point in my early years where things are slowing down, just when I want them to speed up and get exciting, and perhaps that’s why the next few years would, usually, involve experimentation with drugs in order to regain the buzz that your mid teens provided. But, me being me, I don’t want to sit back and just take whatever happens; and watching Blue 88 depart on an epic trip around the world gave me the spark of inspiration that will, hopefully, take the next period of my life quite literally in a different direction. Monday The gut wrenching, nausea inducing panic quickly filtered through me as realisation hit me; my R6 was gone. The gap between all the other bikes gaped like a wound. I ran back to the office, shaking. I couldn’t think, I couldn’t dial the phone, I couldn’t string a sentence together. I wanted to throw up and cry all at the same time, it was just a case of prioritising which one came first.
