Hi I'm 16 and have had my AR for just over 6 months and is dead popular at my college as the others are all scoots. I must say that although I like this bike alot it just has no grunt what so ever. Mine only just touches 37mph on a good piece of flat road after cleaning out the exhaust and stuff. I do have AR80 gear yet is damaged and only the piston is of good nick. Can anyone suggest how much more speed I can get if I put an 80 exhaust and carb on? And how the hell do you de-restrict the thing? I've toyed with the wiring and its done nothing. Insurance is good though as I was originally qouted for

My Ar50 has been fully restored over the past year and I've spent loads of money on it. The bodywork has been painted with pearleasent white paint and the wheels have been powder coated in red and it has a Nikon racing exhaust fitted with a K&N filter. It tops out at around 55 to 60 MPH which isn't bad for a 50. Before I got the bike it lay outside the sellers house for 5 years so as you can imagine it needed quite alot of work done. During the rebuild I fitted new suspension, new berrings, oil seals, piston kit, gaskets, wiring loom, tyres etc. I have spent around

I love the AR50. The best thing about them is the things you can do on these beasts. I can't wait to get on mine. The only down side is the restrictors I think I will be able to sort them out except the cdi unit I will have to buy a ar80 one it is just the money problem

I've had mine for about 7 months and it's been broken for the past couple of weeks. I'm in the process of a new big and small end, rebore, new piston and a new clutch. It was completely standard when I got it and did 40 down a big hill. I still dont know exactly how its restricted, mechanic mate seems to think the carbs way too small (a little wider than a drinking straw!). It should be fixed soon any way n I'm looking forward to riding it again, handles ok, pulls crap but so do restricted RS50's, well so do all 50s really! I'd say only get a 50 to pass the time till you can get a 125, trust me ride a de-restricted RG125 or similar and you'll know what I mean! Overall the AR is ok for getting around on little roads, nothing compared to the newer 50s, GPR's are well nippy! 60 was a piece of piss for me on my mates (ben bostrum colours with a full race pipe) n I weigh 16 stone.

Hi, I own a C9 AR50 and have spent the last 2 months stripping down and painting. In the mean time, I have ordered about 300 quids worth of stuff from around the globe to make it go faster, Nikone do a top dollar race exhause for the AR, buy a 20mm carb and sprocket kit, replica fairings do race seats and belly pans for the bike and I even orders dual stage reeds from Boyesen in America, I have more parts comming from the Netherlands. Also email companys like Dunlop and ask for sticker sets, thanks to them, ap racing and locktite my bike looks the dogs!
