Bought from new. 2001 model bought in 2002. Had it just over a month. There are some bikes they got right, right at the start. FJ1200, CBR600, and the GPZ500. It has only one fault - maybe two. it doesn't really like being much below 5000 revs. certainly not below 4. over 6 or 7000 revs and the engine is sweet as anything and pulls and pulls and pulls. It has faultless handling and forgives nearly every inept mistake you ever make. It is just superb. There are faster bikes, but I find that in the UK I run out of road before I run out of power, and on b roads, where this baby is totally at home, I can't imagine any bike is quicker. Only another rider. I don't know how long they'll keep making this as I suppose it's looking dated. If they just upgrade the styling but retain the frame and engine as is they'll have a winner for years yet. Oh, it's second fault? I love it too much, and that makes me vulnerable, and I don't like that

Excellent bike. Acceleration from 20mph to 70mph is phenominal - plenty of speed to perform last minute overtaking. Nice sounding engine for a 500. Fairing and double disc brakes add style to the 2002 model.

Fast, light and cheap. Needs Bridgestone BT45 tyres then handles well in all weathers. Wheelies in first if abused enough, and does 0-60 in under 4 secs. Hits 130mph flat out. Ride at legal speeds and you get 60mpg and 200+ miles on a tank. Overall a cracking little bike. New 2002 model has twin horns and twin front discs. Looks great in red&black.

Great bike just got back into biking again cant fault it.Only thing I dont like is the twin horns sticking out anybody got any ideas where else they can go.Cheers
