| Just traded my 1989 GSX750F on this bike, a great step up in terms of more horse power without having the weight and size of the big tourer. Keeps up with the rest of the crew I ride with no problems, (FJR1300,TL1000,ST1100) and still a great looking machine. Comfy seat, only gripe is wrist ache but have purchased hi rise clip ons to solve that. Great value for money, I will be hanging on to this baby for a long time!! |

Having graduated from a GPZ500s, my RF900R is everything I always thought it would be since I was a teenager. The bike has serious stomp, handles well and stops as quick as I want it to. The looks are not to everyone's taste ( especially the rear light cluster ) and in the early nineties were revolutionary. Compared to the newest bikes like the ZZR1400 it is quite plain !! An aftermarket Scorpion can has been fitted adding the right noises and lightening the rear. Performance is ample for all but the most experienced riders and in the real world you are not likely to find the bike's limits. Suzuki pitched the RF900 between the GSXR750 and GSXR1100, and in truth it was never a superbike, more a super tourer. Today they are great value second hand buys, reliable and versatile. The standard colours are a little drab, luckily mine has the 1995 Lucky Strike paint scheme which suits it perfectly. Due to poor sales they are a relatively rare sight so if you want something a little bit different give it a try. |

When I was a teenager I drooled over the looks of this bike. 14 years later I managed to get one in Kevin Schwantz Lucky Strike colour scheme for next to nothing. It came with a Scorpion race can and fat Bridgestone tyres. Having only passed my test 4 months ago and having graduated from a GPZ500s this is a totally different riding experience. Throttle response is astonishing and the torque is monstrous in every one of the five gears. Handling is good for a heavy 900 and the bike gives you confidence even if you are inexperienced like me. Although I can keep up with other large bikes it is all about confidence in the twisties ( which I am still learning ). It is flickable as long as you don't go mad in tight corners. Comfort is reasonable for this type of bike but don't expect your knackers to be the same after a long ride! Wrist ache can also set in after an hour or two on the go. I love the looks and in many ways this bike was ahead of its time with styling ( have you seen the new 2006 bikes especially the ZZR1400 ? ). The RF900R is getting to the age where it will either be a classic or it will be forgotten. It is surely too good to be forgotten as it still represents fantastic value for money compared with other sports tourers of a similar age. Of course it can also give similar superbikes a run for their money as well. Build quality is good with a smooth ( if sometimes vibey ) engine, gear change is good but sometimes clunky, brakes are adequate for the job and there is a lot of feedback in the steering. The seat is also very comforable but with little manhood protection! Quite simply there is not a better bike for the money in this class. Be different, get noticed, massive power and big grins !! |

| RS2 purple and silver, Awsome bike. Sold it to buy a 916 5 years ago yet still miss it. A dyno jet, filter, race can gave a genuine 125bhp rear wheel (Rhino Dyno, Croydon) Learn't how to get knee down on this. St Tropez to Newmarket in one go, 2 up with camping gear, (940 miles) 35,000 miles no problems. This bike has to be the most underated bike on the market. |

| This is one fast bike and didn't deserve the indifference it received by the biking press at it's launch nearly 10 years ago. It is only now that it is getting rave reviews in mags like RiDE as being fantastic value for money. I've owned mine for 2 1/2 years now and love it, the only mods I have made are: K&N filter, Goodridge hoses, rear hugger. It seems to handle best on Bridgestones and goes like stink on Shell Optimax petrol! One MAJOR bugbear: it hates the wet and in a heavy downpour miss-fires to a point that it has died completely on me a couple of times - silicon sealant helps a bit. 125 bhp, 165 mph - worth a look !! |

| Definitely a wolf in sheeps clothing. It looks a little barge like but get rid of the huge rear mudguard, remove the crappy RF900 plastic logos on the tail section and hey presto, it looks not too bad. Just with a Scorpion can it sounds and goes like a banshee. I added some flames from Tapeworks.com and it's a mean mother. |

| I have had 12 bikes, inc Blades and Blackbirds, and this is the best. Original except, ART can (sounds nice and loosens the mid range). META M357T alarm Immob. (Keeps it mine and it's better than D/tool crap). SmarTire pressure sensors and Michelin Pilot sports, they are great (but wait till they're warm). It's a great bike to show-up those on supposedly better bikes. HA long live the RF |

| Got an early one after my first one got trashed by a blind driver on the M3... Still impressed with the sheer power - got a Micron race can, ignition advancer and K&N air filter and power is up to a cracking 131bhp - at the rear wheel - I was impressed.... Thus far I've seen 160mph on the clock before "choosing life".... I could do with one of those Corbin seats - although it's no bad thing having to stop every 120 miles for a stretch of the legs... Bike has done 45k miles - front forks need attention, but rear is now sorted - upgraded to the very best Ohlins have to offer - the back end is now rock-solid - well worth the |
