I have had my GSX-R400SS, for over a year now. I love it. It is a proper little sports bike. I've fitted a few extras like upside down forks and a new exhaust can (which gave it an extra few horses) It sounds like a dream, under 8,000 rpm it sounds like a meaty 250, bit when the rev counter climbs, you are given a whole new note. It screams like a beast. Mates have commented that it sounds like a GP bike, when its at full throttle which it is most of the time!. I find that it will out corner most big bikes, but on the straights at over 70 they pull away. Its a good learner bike, and gives you a sense of confidence. Which is probably why I have crashed it twice ( 2nd time wasn't my fault! but they all say that!). I would recommend it to anyone who has just passed their test. It is a big cramped for the taller rider, and you do tend to get back ache after the first few miles, but hey its so much fun.

Power delivery is dodgy in low gears, handling is ok but little feed back, top end seems noisy, the bike has done 6,600miles, I've only done 1,500miles on it. Very disappointed in it , thinking of selling it ..

An excellent bike that when fitted with racing can is extremly fast and will leave most others behind. Fuel injection is great and handling perfect. Was good for long trip - 1500 miles in 5 days and not saddle sore at all which can't be all bad. I would definitely recommend buying one.

Always wanted the best of the best, I do think I've got it. Having road tested a R1 & Blade, I found this bike best suited my needs. Handling is very good and feed back is also VG. Not took it above 160 mph yet. But look forward to a head to head with the new R1.

Just got this bike (traded a ZX-9R). So far it's pretty awesome if not so much to look at. First and second gear wheelies are so easy as to be boring. The fuel injection is very good. The build quality is good but some things look cheap like the stick-on graphics and the indicator lights. Also the switchgear is the same as on my SV650 which is a little cheap feeling but I know from the SV it will last. The power is incredible. Handling is great but turn in is slower than my 996. I think raising the forks may help this.

The first of the slingshots. Apparently they have evil handling; the only problems I have had were due to over-inflated tyres on delivery and being set up wrong. I have an Ohlins shock and BT010's - No problems with handling; it's no Fireblade but then it feels more substantial. My only gripe is being 6ft the footrests are much too high and 2 hours' riding is all I can cope with. I would rate the engine and gearbox as among the best for smoothness and reliability.

Wicked fast, really, really fast. Kinda ugly but not so bad after you ride it. VERY comfortable seat! The pegs are slightly too high for the street but liveable. Heavy steering. Fit and finish is ok but the stick-on graphics are a bit cheap. The gearbox is not as sweet as Suzukis are supposed to be. Handling is great but not as full on track oriented as a Ducati 748/996. Wheelies like a bastid! Hopefully I'll keep it for a while.
