I bought my first GT125 at the age of 17, It was a replacement for the brand new 'MZ 50', I had. I needed something a bit quicker, so this was my choice between the RD125, CG125, CB125T. What a bike, my mate bought one at the same time, the year was 1980, and we were having our best biking days as teenagers on highly strung two strokes. We had races up to the 'Cat and fiddle pub, near Buxton,a lot of the lads on bigger stuff could not catch us. These bikes only put out 16 BHP, and had a top speed of 78 to 85 mph, but the sound these bikes made was unbelievable, a deep induction noise as the fuel and air was sucked through into the tiny twin cylinders, this followed by a shriek of a haunting scream. I now own a bike buisiness, we have had all sorts reving up in the garage, Blades GSXR'S ect and our next door neighbour had never complained.... until we bought our GT125 last year for

Real joy to ride although so many vibrations that one needs to continually tighten up bits. Goes like a rocket. First away from the lights every time with this little baby.

Best thing since sliced bread. Has seen two wives and now six grandchildren. My bike is like having another Son, but with less hassle! My GT750 is part of my family.

Bought my GT750A new in England in Sept. 1976, ran it until 1986 when I came to work abroad. I covered it with plastic sheets, and sprayed 2 tins of WD40 over it every year. Now with me, I've just (june 2002) put it back on the road in Bahrain. No problems, just a good clean was all it needed. So far no problems with the crankshaft seals, but the carburettor rubbers have hardened. It's done 58,000 miles to date, with only minor (Lucas RITA electronic ignition) problems. Mods have been alloy wheels, S&W air shocks, and the electronic ignition. Fuel consumption has varied from 28mpg (in the Isle of Man ) to 55mpg if you ride it very gently. Long may it continue to run.

I own a '74 buffalo in mint condition. It has aluminum canister factory pipes. I converted chain and sprockets to 630 from 530. It requires less adjusting and will not break. I did this because I broke two chains in one summer. Entire motor and most other aluminum parts have been polished to perfection. Bike is extremely fast, and handles well also, after insallation of a six position steering dampener and two new tyres.

Whisps of blue smoke - accelerating up hill you could still see where the gear changes happened a minute later - The ring-ding-ding of the exhaust when using the engine to slow the bike down - Happy days.......then some low-life scumbag nicked it. I would love to have one of these again if only for old times sake! I really quick 250 twin in the days when fuel prices and mpg didn't matter at all!

I Love waterbottles my father had the first one that came to the country registration number GT750. I managed to buy this motorcycle back as a race bike about 10 years ago. Since then I have aquired a blue J model and restored a purple J waterbottle. These bikes are very smooth on the highway and deliver twice the milage as my H2. Highly Recommended! E-Mail me for pictures if you wish
