This is my first "big" bike, my previous being a GS500E, I've been in love with them since their launch in 1999. Since I bought mine in Nov 00 I've put 14,000 miles on the clock, and never had a sore butt in that time! It's comfy upto about 100 miles, but after that you'll soon be stopping for fuel anyway. I've managed to see 140mph on the clocks solo, and 130 with a pillion, and it's even kept up with an R1 down tight roads (but was he trying?), and a 600 Bandit down the straights with my wife on the back. Fuel consumption is good, expect around 90 miles till reserve on a sunny day, 140 miles when plodding. Held together nicely after a spill, only the gear lever went, I guess that must be the weak point! Bottom end grunt is fantastic, but lacks outright guts after having ridden a thundercat and a GSXR1100 (what wouldn't?!) but its so light and nimble you can flick it all over the place, it even lets you brake quite hard and change your line if you go into a corner a little too hasty whilst never feeling like it's being pushed, probably the best handling bike ever! Gives me as much cornering confidence as a 125! Only fault I can pick apart from budget bike build quality, is that it starts misfiring in the wet even after attempts to rectify it. If it's power or two up riding you want, then look elsewhere, but if you want cheap, solo fun, and cornering nirvana, you can't go far wrong! Visit your favourite corner and just fire the little bugger out at max chat!

IV'E HAD MY SV FOR ONLY A WEEK, NEW FROM MOTORCYCLE CITY (GRAND LOWER THAN MRP!). I'M STILL RUNNING IN BUT HAVE HAD A TWO HUNDRED MILE STINT ON IT ALL ON GOOD A ROADS, AND MUST SAY IM LOVING IT!, WHAT A LOVELY MOTOR! IT PULLS FROM JUST ABOUT ANY REVS AND SOUNDS LIKE A ENGINE SHOULD. AS FOR THE HANDLING ITS LIGHT AND SEEMS TO STICK TO THE ROAD LIKE GLUE, I'M CHUCKING IT INTO BENDS HARDER THAN ANY BIKE IVE OWNED (THIS IS NUM34 SO FAR). OK LETS GET SOME MORE MILES DONE!..

Awesome entry/experienced bike. So easy to ride and yet very enjoyable for the experienced as well. Makes the same engine noises as a Ducati 748. Great value, good build quality but must be looked after if ridden in the winter. I put 7000 miles on mine then sold it to my 64 yr old Dad. His first "sportbike"

I am 6 foot & just got a SV650sx with 2 inch rearset pegs, IT FITS LIKE A GLOVE. I use it to commute all weathers and am seriously impressed. No complaints, when I have modded the front end.
