Yamaha FSI
80cc
88/89 (F)
Overall Rating:
Review
It has grown into a retro classic, now demands high price, Back in the day it was the bike to have as youngster in the late 80's. Cracking fun, im sure we all de-resitricted one at some point, and buzzed around annoying the neighbours.

the ybr is a good economical, quick, light, easy to ride, not an effort to get on with, it also has a good range of spare parts to get hold of easily, its fair to say it is a great starter bike.

Review
After a break of some 20 years from riding and mid-life crisis loooming, I decided to get a bike to learn on and get through my test. In the Virago I made the right choice, it is nippy and looks like a bigger bike than it is - being a short bird I can get my feet flat on the floor and it flies along with no problem whatsoever. Plenty of power for learners to deal with. I have loved it - just moved up to a 250cc virago as the 125 did it's job!!!

Further to my original review,i thought you might be interested in my latest play on my old FZ750 (Mods:).
I have brought an ex I.O.Man TT full race FZR1000 Genesis engine complete with race clutch. It will be interesting to find out what BHP & top speed will be !.Bike is also now fitted with a Metmachex braced swingarm for better handling.

Yamaha YZF-R6

Overall Rating:

This is a great first bike. I bought it without knowing how to ride and learned on the R6. It has plenty of get-up throughout the early to mid power band and really hums when up over 8,000 rpm.
I would recommend this bike to anyone I know.

Used as a track bike/race bike.
Excellent handling very fast just right for the track with it's light weight compared to the bigger 1000cc bikes/

hi there, i had a tw125 when i was going in for my test and i loved this bike, its a real head turner, funky tyres, and a great upright riding position. you can really throw it round corners with full confidence.. the only bug bear is the top speed. After passing my test i got a suzuki 500gs which was great on power but i still missed the quirkyness of the tw... then my dream came true ! i found a TW200cc imported from america and immediatly part exed my suzuki for it.. its the same size as the 125 and really comfortable but with a bit more ooomph ! its also really economical too.. shame they stopped making these bikes because of fuel emissions in 2005... if you want a meatier yamaha try the mt03 which came out in 2006, definatly worthy of a test ride !! good luck !

Yamaha XJ

Overall Rating:
Review
This bike is a US imported machine with the Bull Dog spirit. Mine is the XJ700X Maxim.
Very quick off the mark for a 700cc bike. Tear drop tank and a cushion seat. Beautiful cherry red and chrome. Sounds grunty, head turner, comfortable to ride.
The tank is on the small side with a mileage of about 120 before the refill light comes on.
Being an Import, there aren't too many of them about, making spares a bit difficult to obtain.
There is an internet club for XJ700 owners which is very useful for passing and sharing information.
Had the bike for 8 years and don't want to get rid of her!!!
Cheers
Pete

Yamaha TZR
125cc
89/90 (G)
Overall Rating:
Review
I’m using a Yamaha tzr125 since 2002 and have had no problem with good maintenance. Excellent handling, pickup and good comfort. Mileage wise it does around 28-35 KMPL and its satisfactory.
It starts with on kick and it is really important to add the correct amount of 2 stroke oil coz too much of oil could get you spark plug damaged and replaced very often. And then, the bike sucks.
But overall it’s really a very good reliable bike when treated with care.

Yamaha TRX

97/98 (R)
Overall Rating:
Review
The TRX is and always has been an extremely underated motorcycle that can now be picked up for bargain money. You often find cbr`s and the like from the same year going for almost double the money of a trx.Well now it`s time to let you all into a little secret.....the TRX is half the price but twice the bike!!dare to be different, because the trx has masses of personality and you get the same attention as if your riding a rare ducati or similar. The TRX is a winner!!!!
