Ive had mine now for 2 years, and rode it back from the Uk to Romania where I live.
2 up and fully loaded all the way here, and it just went and went...since being back in Romania it has had a hard life, being used on various tours around the country..over some brilliant and also some really crap roads...regular viits up the Transfagaras pass...it holds its own with most sportsbikes..and can cope with some pretty rough conditions...over all it a brilliant bike..and definately under rated in the Uk..you will see plenty of them in Europe though. If you have not ridden one..try one..you will be suprised and have a big grin. For sure it has a few minor irritations...but what bike does not have..well done Yahama..bloody excellent bike.

Yamaha FZ600
While taking my Triumph Speed Triple into the local bike shop for new tyres, the kind fellows gave me a Yamaha FZ600 as the loan bike. First time I've had a go on one of these and I must say I thought it was quite a good fun bike.
The first thing I noticed was the seating position, quite a bit lower compared to the Triumph, I even managed to get both feet flat on the floor rather than tip toeing when stopped at traffic lights. The handling was very light on the front end and I can imagine would be great fun once used to the bike for popping the odd wheelie or two (not that I tried this in any way!!)
It felt a bit strange for me once out on the open road, I thought I was thrashing it at one point but when taking a glance at the rev counter it was only on 4.5k. I suppose that's just me used to the big lumpy triple of an engine from Triumph. I must say thought the FZ600 is a very quiet bike.
After riding around all day, ooops I mean a couple of hours, I had great fun.
If anybody is looking for a good town/commuter 600cc, this could be the one for you, very light, very comfortable, good on the ears and wheelie friendly. Would definitely recommend a test ride.
There you go, hope I didn't mention Triumph too much, do I get my t-shirt now?

Yamaha XT500
The XT is a totally involving bike. I always wanted this particular model with the anodised rims and peanut tank. The first time I actually saw one for real as opposed to in the press was at the Brands Hatch Festival of 1,000 bikes, I made arrangements to buy it and was successful. I wasn't disappointed, 18 years on I still own it and still love riding it.

Right a little education for all you sit and screw novices out there, the TW is a four stroke engine, not the 2 stroke blocks you have in your streetfights or whatever you have. - YOU CANNOT DE-RESTRICT SOMETHING THAT HASN'T BEEN RESTRICTED! - this is like making butter cut through steel. it aint gonna happen. as for the bike it handles fantastically and you can get 65 - 70 out of it just like i did 40 minutes ago, and mine has already done 28064 miles! the only way the bike will go faster is if you drop it out of a plane! if you want 65 - 70mph out of it try running it in abit and make sure you have good fuel, oil and look after the damn thing!

I bought a FZ750 earlier this year,it had been sprayed black & fitted with a race style seat unit off a Kawasaki !. It was too tall for me so i got an original seat unit & side panels & put it back to standard,a big improvement. It is fitted with a full Micron 4-2-1 down pipes & Micron silencer,it sounds great & go"s like S**t off a shovel.I have also got a stage 3 carb conversion from Factory Pro in the USA & a Gear conversion to give faster gear changes & prevent false neutrals, 4 Bull Air filters have been fitted In place of the original air box.The suspension front & rear has been uprated & new Bridgestone Battax tryes fitted front & rear. The dropbars have been removed & replaced with Risers & Renthal Bars. The engine has been fully rebuilt & Dyno:@106BHP@ the back wheel !!!,Not bad considering the original BHP was about 86@ the back wheel on a standard bike.I have spent about £1500 so far & thats with me doing most of the work,I was a mechanic for most of my life & I looked on this has a challenge. Was it worth it on an old bike ?,YES,is the answer. These 2nd model FZ750 Genisis had a fantastic reputation for their 5 Valves per cylinder engines & fantastic performance for the time (1987).The bike handles & performs Almost as good as any modern machine & has the looks to go with it...I hope you enjoy reading my review & wish you happy biking...

amazing bike lack of acceleration and speed is a shame but not a huge problem, i find it pulls up hills better than my dads 2 litre merc which i was incredibly impressed and proud off, so far all i've done to the bike is replace the whole exhause system with KO2 silver tails (makes the bike sound like it swallowed a harley) and had the front brake pads replaced and rear tire thats it. i bought it as a learner bike i have now passed my test and bought a 650 dragstar but i kept the virago as its a really fun and enjoyable ride and would highly recomend it weather you are riding on full licence or CBT i tell you when i filled my dragstar the other day i missed my virago as the fuel was ridiculous as i am struggling with cash at the moment ive parked up the dragstar and riding the virago bottom line cheaper TO RUN want advice buy one of these bike, kings of small bike big looks cruisers.

Yamaha FZR400RR
My FZR400RR was the last of the imports, a '94 plate.
I have spent a few quid getting it up to a good standard.
New full stainless exaust, K&N filter, full carb rebuild, a service and tune up.
Saying all that, what a bike. I don't know about 150 top speed claimed but mine has been rolling road tested and is pulling 72 bhp at the rear wheel.
I have had 136mph out of it so not quite as fast as a 600 but a lot more fun although it goes through tyres and brake pads like nothing i've ever owned and only does 140 miles on a full tank of fuel.
I still think it is the best 400cc bike around having owned CBR400R, NC30 and a GSXR400 and ridden all the rest.. They're all fun but the FZR sounds and looks better than all these other 400 pretenders.

Yamaha Neos
Just bought a Neos, as I want something to get my confidence back on!
Returning lady biker having not ridden for 26 years! The Neos is very comfortable, like riding a sofa. It is also a sedate 50cc, and for the journey to work and back (3 miles each way) that I do every weekday, it is fine. I would recommend this type of bike for either a beginner or a returner who needs to get the miles in and the confidence up.

Yamaha DT50
Very good bike, highly reccomendable. Had a few problems when I bought it; mainly just down to age.
Bike just back from the garage, perfect now. Big wheels and very stable.
Got 65 big bore and a DEP full sport exhaust system, Bike does 50 fairly easily. Great fun, very reliable.

Yamaha R1
My second R1 of this vintage actually a '99 model, fantastic handling and power for the year.
I owned an '05 new model for a while but did not find it as confidence building as this model, it did have more power but if you can't get it down on the road whats the point?
These bikes are pretty bullet proof mechanically as well, not like my pals MV Augusta, that old piece of poop never seems to be working.
Go on you know it makes sense, get yourself an R1 at have some wheelie good fun.
