I have a 2005 fz6 fazer and i love it, It's the most comfortable bike i've ever ridden i can ride it for about 2 hours without feeling it.

It has a detuned version of the R6 which revs to 14000rpm and the bike seems to be better when you use the whole rev range
it quite happy doing it.

The brakes are also taken from the old R6 and work really well but can take some getting used to.

I'm 6'2'' and it's very comfy as it's a high bike with a seat hight of 790mm.

Well what can I say about the FZS600 Fazer... Well as it was yamahas Top selling "budget bike of the late 90@s to 2003 Not much you don't already know.

My Fazer was one of the Last Mark 2 models with the predominant foxeye lights and in my opinion the best looking fazer to date. But i'm biased.

Power is smooth in delivery and is a machine capable of nearly exceeding the legal limit by double, The ride is comfortable But to be honest the bike could have done with fully adjustable suspension like its bigger brother.
The Brakes are brilliant having front calipers from the likes of the R6 and R1 etc Although the rear caliper is prone to a few sticking problems.

power is about 95bhp at the crank and with the double overhead cam engine it can occasionally get you into trouble but it is a managable bike with a lot of its weight evenly distributed.

The fuel range is very impressive with a 22ltr tank, the engine is bulletproof if looked after and have been known to exceed 75000k easily.

All in all a very competent all rounder that allthough now a little dated, can still hold its own on the A roads,B roads and even the odd track day if thats your bag.

I love mine and its the second one i've had so it can't be bad, and the insurance isn't frightining either.

This was my first "big" bike. Cost me 1900 from a dealer and i think it was money well spent. From learning on a 600 hornet i assumed the fazer 600 would be similar...........nothing like! the fazer is much more comfy, quicker and smoother to ride! I recommend this bike to anyone looking to get into proper road biking.

Had my bike around 5 weeks done some 1000 miles , 3rd bike after 25 years lay off , I really like bike, good take off power in top up to around 70 mph then goes a bit flat till revs climb ! slight tingle at around 7000 , but so has my CBR 600 , no fairing so hard to hang on over 90 ,also gets jittery above 90 , maybe wheels need balance
Only around 40mpg at moment but changing air cleaner may
improve it. Loves the twisty lanes here in Cornwall, seat is a trifle tall for me , otherwise a good blaster /cruiser bike

I'm a wrinkly! My first bike since test in December, a little overawed at first at the available power and reluctant to use the full rev band, soon settled into the bike though, which is comfortably and easy to ride. My only criticisms are the mirrors, which are a bit too short, a notchy greabox 1st and 2nd, a harsh vibration from the engine coming through the front of the seat and absolutely dreadful and dangerous headlights. It is completely reliable, great fun, reasonably priced and looks good.

Bought new in 1999 from Carnell, terrible after sales service (Ignition barrel fell apart-3 weeks to replace & would not replace the Petrol Tank lock so I now need 2 keys. Also due to a badly routed speedo cable the front L/H Disc cut into the wire causing the milage to go up over 800 miles as I wheeled the bike out of the garage (not nice too see when the Bike only had 33 miles on the clock 10 yards before). Carnell were just not interested, no wonder they closed down. The bike has had a very hard life (I'm a courier) and has coped extremely well with all the abuse its had. It had its 600 mile service (badly done by Carnell), and from then on I replaced/repaired things just before they wore out. It's on its second motor (gearbox-stuck in top/false neutral) at 77000 miles (now repaired so I've got a spare motor). The bike now has over 110000 miles on the clock the second motor is fitted with K&N Air Filter, full race system with shorter headers and a ART end can (not as loud as you'd think sub 6000rpm), & jetted to suit. 91bhp@10200rpm/44lb/ft@8100rpm at the back wheel. It was a nightmare to get the jetting right but worth it in the end. Fuel consumption is actually better than before and the motor is a lot stronger between 3000-6000 which is where I try to keep the Revs when in Courier mode. I've had the speedo off the clock when in idiot mode(past 160mph) but thats gottta be lying they do between 135-145mph. Overall MOTOR-9/10. GEARBOX-1st-2nd v. clunky. CLUTCH- never had a problem although bike mags say Yam clutches are bad/weak. BRAKES-9/10 (over-braked if anything), SUSPENSION-Rubbish-4/10 especially the front forks(this is where they've scrimped on the bike). HANDLING-8/10. goes off noticably as the milage increases plus everything decks out too early. TYRES- I favour Michelin Pilot powers (i get them cheep from a mate) but any sticky rubber no matter the manufacturer is really to much for the standard front forks. LIGHTS- TERRIBLE even with the modification that gets both lights on at same time. Fazer 400 headlight units are supposed to be good as both lights come on as standard (the 400 was an import only though). I've fitted small spotlights just beneath the headlamp (brighter bulb kits can melt the reflectors(this is why the lighting mod doesn't work that well as the rightside reflector is designed for mainbeam only)), and I can see where I'm going at night now! OVERALL-Excellent bike for the price, finish goes off quickly if you dont clean it all the time. Lovely motor & brakes, ultimately the suspension lets it down but hey what @

I am an American owner who salutes Europe on getting Yamaha to produce a fine machine. It's aggressive streetfighter looks are third place behind the likes of the R1, and Z1000. It is the best multipurpose machine I have ever ridden, and find that it is as good if not better when ridden like a super sport rather than a Sport Tourer. However, having completed several 10 hr days on it I find it comfortable, with accomadating ergonomics. It's a bit much to be a starter bike, but not enough to run with big guns. You'll love it either way but don't expect to hang with Rossi.
