Yamaha Fazer

Got my Fazer a day before Easter what there to say I'm in love. Fast handles like a dream fantastic breaks and powerful headlights. The roads around the city of Dubrovnik are tight and windy like they were made for the Fazer. Just past 4000 KM and loving every KM. Many warm regards to all the Fazer owners from Dubrovnik.

First "big" bike, probably the best decision I've ever made. A must have for someone just starting out, but try not to be on the heavy side, as the suspension is real soft.

Had the Fazer from new and generally, it's pretty good. The motor is quite torquey if a little under-geared but has a good turn of speed. Handling is ok, even with no adjustment available. The brakes are spiffing, you can do insane braking on the Fazer. Now for the downside. The headlight,oh dear; the seat is shaped so that there is no support for the thighs and it's 60 miles tops before you cry enough! The handlebars are way too high for serious high-speed work {fairing is quite effective, though]. The finish is best described as below average; I've had the fork-bottoms replaced under warranty and I don't use the bike in Winter. As I say, it's generally a good bike; but if you want something for comfort and fastish speeds, get a 2nd-hand CBR 600 instead

It's a smashing motorcycle, miles better than the Bandit I used to have, just maybe not as cool.I wasn't expecting to get along with this bike but it certainly grows on you, once you've got used to its appearance and worked out that if you're anything below 6000rpm you'd be better getting off and pushing.< >< >Hate: styling, though gf loves it, which maybe demonstrates that the sexes perceive vehicles in a complete different way (how else could such stylistic crimes as the Audi TT and new VW Beetle be hits amongst sloane ranger types); finish is well tacky; rear suspension is rather too much on the spongy side for my liking; engine gutless at low revs (gob-smacking above 6k, tho'); headlights pathetic.< >< >Love: handling; top-end performance; comfort (pillion and rider); running costs (40-50mpg even when thrashing the thing); brakes; styling, yep now I love it; piece of piss stuffing bigger bikes on the twisty roads round here.< >< >Tip: try 38-42 front/rear tyre pressure combination: a revelation!

New model almost identical to last as far as ride. My last bike, Fazer 1000 far too big and heavy for town/commuting. I've had 2 FZS600s before, and the new one is perhaps a bit quicker despite same engine - perhaps the fairing works. New lights great, what a difference to see where you're going at night. Yam belly pan fits well, except catches on sidestand, so watch that. Blue Flame end can definitely peps up top end and sounds greeeat. Yamaha ally chainguard and carbon hugger also recommended for looks and cleanliness. Well worth changing your old one for, boys.

Just bought a new Fazer 600, seems a cracking bike. If you think the Gearbox is clunky then try a Vmax!! The dealer lent me one while the Max was being serviced and I bought it as a second bike, now the Vmax remains in the garage

I agree with an earlier comment about it being a bit quiet below 6000 revs - it's fun above that! Still burns a little oil occasionally from cold - there's a little blue (definately blue, not white) smoke but hasn't needed any refilling in 1000 miles. Should I be worried about this - it has done it since brand new?
