Bought this one in black for girlfriend. Tiny amount of drop damage now fixed, but would really like a riders manual. Just get a click from starter relay on start button, wonder if there is additional starting tricks i.e. clutch immobilizers etc. Anyone any ideas on manual please.

The 2002 Fazer is excellent in almost every respect. Smooth delivery great handling, lovely sounding engine. Improved look and wind protection and bigger tank. My only complaint is that the rear suspension does not suit me at the factory setting! It's a little bouncy over british roads, but as it is fully adjustable I am sure this is only a temporary problem that I can resolve myself. All in all the adjustments to the new 2002 Fazer have given it the crown in this bikes particular class! Great fun for all riders, whatever your experience. Makes the Bandit seem like a lumpy bumpy old hack! And better looking than the Hornet with a very similar, but slightly smoother, performance

My first bike was a Bandit, great fun bike but after three years thrashing I needed more power. On the same day I tested a CBR600 (definately lived up to the hype), an SV650 (great fun but not enough power), a Hornet 600 (a top bike but a little too exposed without the crappy fairing) and then I tried the Fazer. It's the first bike I've ridden that actually made me scream out loud going round a bend! If it's smiles per miles you're after - get a Fazer! The only negative things I've heard about the Fazer are the non exisitant dipped lights, the finish and the clunky gear box (from 1st to 2nd) and I have to agree on all counts. Enough has been said about the lights so I won't bore you by repeating the problem! The finish is not as good as my Bandit, especially the stupid black exhaust, but mine is doing quite nicely so far (all it needs is some TLC!) The 1st to 2nd gear clunking can be much improved by adjusting the change lever down one cog (do this by removing it and replacing it one cog further round!!) this helps, honest! Would I buy another one - yes!

Great bike. Only have standard tyres at the moment will probably upgrade to Metzler MZ3's soon and it is crying out for a carbon race can becase the standard gets dirty easily. But this bike holds the road. Not only is it comfortable (very well padded seat, ideal for long rides), you can sweep into corners without fear, where as other bikes can be worrying when you lean in. Looking forward to the summer on this bike, it has the power to keep up with my friend's R6 (I lose him at over 80 mph). You will not regret buying this bike, test ride one and see.
