This is my first motorbike after progressing on from a 50cc scooter. It is a great bike- unbelievably cheap to run (worst I've had from it is 130mpg). Very reliable, will do 65mph on the flat, acceleration is good- will beat most cars from the lights. Very comfortable to ride- nice riding position. The only disadvantages mine has is that it is extremely sluggish when cold (it's a strugle to keep up with traffic) and the choke is located on the engine, so if you want to adjust it when going along, you have to feel around under the seat. Overall though a great bike.

the ybr is a good economical, quick, light, easy to ride, not an effort to get on with, it also has a good range of spare parts to get hold of easily, its fair to say it is a great starter bike.

This is my first bike so when looking, power was the last thing on my mind.
This bike is great compared to the Honda CG 125 that I did my CBT on and I am currently doing my lessons on. If you're gonna get a 125 DO NOT get a CG.
This bike is very easy and surprisingly comfortable to ride, the seat is amazing (lol) I rode mine through winter, mistake I know, and if the bike so much as thinks there is salt within a hundred metre radius then watch out for rust. Mine is 8 months old with only 2800 miles on it, and yet you woud think it was the first Yamaha off the production line. Other than that though the bike is a good all rounder, and make sure that when you're in the sales room you barter, I got a years free insurance with mine, thats one years no claims for free!

Ok so this is my 1st bike so I don't really have anything to compare it to other than the dodgy up & coming make I did my CBT on. I've just finished running the YBR in so haven't really gone above 55mph yet although it feels like it wants to do more. For a basic bike it's not too bad with fuel injection & a fuel gauge amongst other things that bikes in its class don't generally seem to have. I'm a bit worried about the auto light on (as soon as you turn the ignition lights come on whether you want them or not & no light switch) & what it may do to the life of the battery. Ultimately I don't think it'll be long before I'm looking for a bigger bike but as a beginner I'm glad I started on the YBR & will be sorry to see it go.

Its not fair on us girls, most bikes are too tall. I'm only five foot 1 and the only bike I could find that I could at least touch the ground on within my price range was a YB100. I wanted a motorbike and not a scooter, they are just hairdryers.

My husband kept looking for a suitable bike and turned up this almost classic Yammy. He waxed on an on about how it reminded him of his fizzie which was apparentley a 50cc version of this bike (ahh when he was a lad, he was positively enthusiastic about the purchase).

I liked the weight of it, I could push it around without thinking I might drop it, it was a lovely burgundy colour and I liked the original retro look it had. There was a few rusty bits but hubby soon cleaned them up. I couldn't ride it much because of having two young children but when I did it was great to get out on the road. It was a little smoky because it was a two stroke and I had to keep an eye out on the oil level though hubby filled it up when needed. And I did struggle at first with the kickstart. but it was just a knack.
The gears were a little hard to get used to at first because I had passed my test on an automatic scooter but it was easy to get on with once I got used to the clutch and throttle control. It had four gears (Like the fizzie apparently) My husnband bought a few spares for it over the time I owned it which were very cheap, they were cables and a bit of the wiring and a 6V battery.
Eventually because we were moving house it had to go and someone came round pretty much straight away and gave me the asking price. I was sad to see it go because it was simple to use and easy to ride and very cheap. One day I would love to own another one and get out on the road again covering drivers in blue smoke

It's a good bike to start off on. Its a nice bike so you can get started on low costs. Runs well, Its cheap on tax as its a 125cc. Going on long bike rides you will enjoy as the bike is easy to ride and in comfort as well. You won't have to keep putting your hand in your pocket. Also I have not spent a lot of money on it to keep it running as its a reliable bike

Perfect for the very beginner. Styling is top notch, it is the best looking 125er at this kind of price; shy of 2 grand; plus current offers include cheap insurance. For a 125 it is fast; especially on the back wheel! - this I learned by accident, but it\'s kept me smiling ever since. It cruises easy at 55mph, will do 65mph.

VERY reliable, VERY economical, nice smooth gear box. Its not the fatest 125 around or the best lookin, but for a cheap bloody reliable 125 learner it excels in every way shape and form. Good fun to ride and i didnt want to get off it when i got to where i was goin

Quite cool bike ,especially for beginners.
Nice acceleration, but the worst detail on this bike is its stock tires. It comes with Sakura(?!) brand tires, which must be urgently changed for a good handling. No handling on wet floor otherwise.
