My first ever big bike. Passed my test on the Wednesday bought it on the Friday. At first frightened me to death as you could imagine after only riding 125s. Won a track day 6 weeks after passing my test watched and learned. I have put 3000 miles on this bike in 3 months pleasure riding. It is the best handling and best sounding bike ever especially with a blue flame end can. It regularly shoots into warp factor nine after 10000 revs and nods it's head to acknowledge the changing up of gear. I never thought that I would get so much enjoyment out of riding a bike especially an R6

An outstanding piece of gorgeous and mentally fast metal! Clocked over 171mph in Spain with baggage. Will never sell.

Done just short of 20,000 miles (Use it lots) ;) No mechanical probs yet, touch wood. Well worth buying one. Sooooo fast. Wicked. Good trackday tool. Better than the new one, no cat lol. At the end of the day, its the best looking 600cc Sports Bike you can buy. If we are all honest most people who buy R1's (1000cc Bikes) etc do it for the, (ive got something big between my legs, look at me syndrome) but come on there's nothing in it on the twisty's and only 10mph difference top end, being that over 160mph and you cant do that in the UK without loosing your license. If your looking at buying a Fast, Good looking, Great handling Sports bike then do your self a favour. R6 is the one. I no cause ive got one. ;)

Update for Jan 07th Review. Had my R6 now for 13months still no probs with build quality. Still going strong, Had my wheels painted Gold and decals removed. Looking like new still at 13140 miles (clean it alot though) On the way to the South of France at the end of this month, HEAVEN. If your looking at buying a 600 get an R6 cos I'm still not bored with mine.

This was my first bike I owned. I am only 18 years old and ever since I saw the R6 I wanted 1. Here in IRELAND there aint much big sports bikes around. I got the bike about 3 weeks ago and I luved it to bits. It set me back 7100 euros but it was totally worth it. At first I was kinda nervous bout getting up on the R6 seeing it was my first bike but this was all thanks to my buddies for almost putting me off getting it by saying that I wouldn't be able to handle it and shit but did I prove them wrong or what!!! This was to be my first bike I ever drove apart from a moped and I was so confident on it even though it was clocked for 160. Just spinning around on it did it for me, the feeling of total power behind me was class. The R6 looked the biz, it was a 99 bike red/white/black with only 4k on the clock. It had a black double screen and had a micron exhaust system (you dont half get noticed when u hav a micron exhaust on ur bike). Unfortunately had to sell it due to some bizarre insurance mix-up. I did not lose out on it as I got a brand new yamaha TDR 125, not as nippy as the R6 but the way im looking at the situation is ''my day will come when I will have my R6''. I would recommend the R6 to ne 1 even a first time buyer if they have a strong build so they wont go dropping the bike :)
