The Thunderace is the most underated bike in a long time . Mine has done 35k and the finish and reliability are without question. On real roads (bumps and things) it will not be beaten by the more flighty R1 and the like, lay the power down out of a bend and watch the gap increase ! It's biggest criticism when it came out was 'it's not focused enough' ! Dream on its a beaut , comfy , mega grip and handling it's the dogs B........

Great alround bike, love it, you can keep your R1's. Owned it about 3 months now and have no plans to change it. It's in yellow and silver with black screen, hugger and undertray its the muts nuts, often seen at rivington hall barn at weekends when out with the boys. No real problems with the set up of the bike just wants to keep going 'n' going, i'll have to watch my licence. Currently running on dunlop D207's after a short spell on Pirelli Dragons - more confidence now i've changed them. Also ride it 40 miles a day to and from work in all weathers once again must say great allround machine.

I am only 14 but my dad got a silver and dark red Thunderace about a month ago. He had a brand new Bandit 600 before that and with me always going out with him I found the Bandit gave me a numb bum after about 45 mins. The Thunderace is very comfy. He has red bolts in the fairing and a Scorpion race can and it sounds a beast. I love the look of it and you don't see many of them which I like. He wheelied his Bandit with me on but wouldn't dare on the Thunderace. its a top bike

I bought the Thunderace last summer and it already had Yoshimura zyclone can, dynojet kit and k&n filter. I wasn't satisfied with the performance. I've bought a Akrapovic complete system and WOW! It ain't good at 3000-4000 rpm but it ain't rubbish either. But after 4000 rpm it goes like hell. The frontwheel lifts almost too easily. In winter I bought a double bubble screen but I haven't fitted it yet.

Had mine a year now. 100bhp and she can fly, producing a smile everytime I get on it. I've surprised a few superbike riders who thought I would be lagging behind only to find me right up there with them. Plenty of torque and the grunt in midrange is better than any other 600 supersport. Reliability is superb, great handling with the right tyre choice and is very comfortable. The best supersport machine that does everything you ask it to and much more. Would buy another one without hesitation. Simply BRILL !

I had a 96 model YZF600 for about two years. an awesome machine when wound up above 4000rpm, it was like lighting an afterburner, a real kick in the pants. Below that it was a little average. Comfort was pretty good but my wrists would ache after a long ride. The fuel range was great and the handling and brakes were sharp. A very under-rated bike I think. The bike's lines just looked so sexy too! Great value for money these days but a little costly to service.

It is the best bike as it takes a hammering all day long and can beat the R1. 0-100 in around 6 secs, and you can drive it from Glasgow to Spain 2 up without needing a crane to lift you off at the other end. I have had both and would never again ride an R1 to spain EVER. THE ACE IT THE RIGHT NAME FOR IT (the only bad point is the shocks they need to be set right for you and it well worth getting them set up) great for a track day also
